I love old cars, I would love a nice old classic to work on if I ever get through my problems. You’d really stand out driving something like that buick today.
I’ve been watching jay leno garage on youtube for the cars he has on there, he has some wonderful old cars; once a year in August I go to a classic car show nearby, it’s just a day to forget all my problems and enjoy myself.
Right on. I used to get dragged to classic car shows as a kid and I didn’t really like it, although I always seemed to gravitate towards 60’s era American muscle cars.
I don’t believe in God, but if he exists, the best thing He ever did was help man create the internal combustion engine and inspire engineers to wrap a body around it.
Jay Leno has a shit-ton of great vehicles. He’s an example of a wealthy guy who puts his money to good use. 🙂
I like Capone’s car as well – that beasty ’28 Cadillac. Frankie D. rode it to deliver his Declaration of War speech as well. Although I tend to go for vehicles from the 50’s to 70’s. Things tend to have gone downhill since then.
I used to live next door to this old man who had 22 vintage cars like this, one exactly like that in the picture all working in mint condition and never to be sold. I used to think the old man was batty cause he spent about $3,000 a month to keep them in storage and wouldnt sell any of them not even for a million dollars he reckons. well I never really liked or appreciated them until one day I saw him and all his cronies rolling out in some vintage car fundraiser and I was like F*** me, it took my breathe away like dayum that shit really is sexy man!
The modern day costs of these vehicles is astronomical. Unbelievable. Only 8,000 1949 Buick Roadmasters were produced. The one pictured is a bargain at $13k, a convertible is over $50,000. —People scrapped their cars once they were done with them. All metal and steel, no plastic. Cars that didn’t run back then were still valuable for their scrap worth.

There is nothing sexier on this planet (imho).
Cars back then had style, character, personality….

Hi Shep; I was born in the wrong era. (I suspect you were too).
Oh well. If reincarnation is real, I’d like to go backwards, not forward.
Meowch!
