Monday is when I go back to college but I’ve been falling slowly now. My grip on life is getting weaker by the day. Yet, I realized I’m beyond saving, be it by my own strength or another person’s. At the beginning of this forked path, I’ll post every uplifting/encouraging Japanese song I know for a week or so. The first one is Only Human by K, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppINLeLEnFo. Here’s hoping it helps you more than it did me.

@rocketman, nice. Chipper melancholy, right up my alley.

Sukiyaki, a Japanese pop song from the 1960s listen to the Japanese version!
Ironically, Sukiyaki is one of my grandfather’s favorite songs besides Japanese military music (gunkan). So, I’m quite familiar with it since Sukiyaki and gunkan could’ve been the thing to bring my grandfather out of his coma.
Zet: is your grandfather still alive?
Yes but if how I respond to liveleak death videos (gory, shock site fatalities) is any indication to my empathy, than I’m more likely to kill him instead of help him…
@zet when I was younger I was fascinated with gore/death anything where everyone was suffering unspeakable violence. It comforted me. Nothing wrong with it.
The problem isn’t the gore itself, it’s how I feel about it. Disgust, anger, even intrigue would be better than this feeling. This feeling of indifference… If the most heart-wrenching of experiences can’t unfreeze my soul than maybe it’s time for me to see if the flames of Hell can! Come, Death and show me a fear powerful enough to shatter the ice around my soul!
Totally makes sense, I don’t know why but it does. I won’t question it either.
On a side note, I’m binging on Tokyo Ghoul.
HDS, who is your favorite character in Tokyo Ghoul? Mine is obvious.
Ken Kaneki of course…but I like when Uta makes guest appearances. Awesome costumes are always a treat.
Do you think Uta could’ve been considered an ally for pre-CCG Eyepatch or a helping neutral party?
@zet: sure yet, I’m only in the first season, truth be told I’m never watched Tokyo Ghoul for any length of time and now I’m totally addicted. I’m on episode 9 of the first season, the other seasons aren’t dubbed so I will have to watch them by myself as the family complains if I watch anime that has subtitles. God forbid anyone in this house enjoys something in it’s pure state. I blame it on bringing the kids to McDonalds when they are young, it ruins the soul.
That was “NOT sure yet…regarding Uta….I’m pretty sure he does costumes for all ghouls, I don’t think he would turn any ghoul away regardless of which of the 20 areas they are from.
Ah, I won’t spoil anything more for you, then. I just hope you don’t look into my spoiling allusions from the manga.
@zet: I don’t sweat spoilers.
Good to know. Is it weird Tokyo Ghoul sort of made me interested in trying human meat? Also, that isn’t a euphemism…
@zet: hmmm. Never tempted to try human meat unless you count chewing in my fingers. Too many pathogens to be worried about. It would have to be cooked well done, as we all know that can make meat really tough unless it is simmered for a long time. But even that won’t kill prions, which are the pathogen that cause mad cow disease or Kuru, which is the human equivalent. scary stuff, absolutely no way to cure it. Once it is introduced into the blood brain barrier, it is just a a matter of time until your brain is Swiss cheese.
