1. Yes
2. Nobody asked to be born. If there are people who *genuinely* care about you, your suicide will hurt them in one way or another, that’s inevitable. I think everyone should have the right to die as long as its not done on impulse – also if you have children you should not do it unless someone else can care for them
#1 Yes
#2 Like everyone above has said, it depends. But I think if we’re ever to get out of this abyss we need to be selfish, reasons why WE want to keep going, as opposed to other people telling us why we should live and what we have to live for. Everyone has their own values and idea of what we should get out of life so the same rule doesn’t apply to everyone.
1- Why not?
2- I agree with someone has said if you have children is not Ok. But I think when people say that suicide is selfish and cowardish, they’re being it themselves. They say one should not suicide because others care, but if others care they should know the suicidal is in pain and remaining in this world is a punishment and he is not free…
Yes and No. Suicide isn’t selfish, because you hurt other people by being depressed and alive/ruining moments, and Yes, It si okay to cry. Crying is natural.
1. Yes. Absolutely without doubt.
2. It depends.
I struggle with the same question. I have a slightly different perspective to most people.
I have often had sad thoughts and have been thinking about ending my life a lot and in detail but am not always deeply depressed. At the same time I have had the experience of someone killing themselves by jumping in front of the train I was driving. That happened in front of several hundred people at the start of a morning rush hour in London.
I can still remember the shocked looks on some of the peoples faces and how I felt. It really, really was not nice.
I believe our lives are a gift given to us as individuals which is why it is generally wrong to deliberately take someone else’s. Having said that I do believe we have the right to end our own but not in a way that will deliberately traumatise other people and cause others harm.
Everything we do has some impact on someone.
One of the reasons I am often unhappy is that I have grown up trying to please other people in a futile attempt to get their approval. Being a little selfish is clearly not a bad thing and in other times and cultures probably an essential trait for survival.
Sorry If this is no help and just adds to the question.
I think that it is probably a sign of good in you that you are asking.
