sportsnut
As a Brit living abroad, here’s a couple of pictures to help you remember the what it’s like back in the old country. The first one was taken in Hampshire (where else!) at a place called Old Winchester Hill. It’s my favourite spot in the world and where I want my ashes scattered when the time comes. You wouldn’t think there could be so many shades of green. It’s a green and pleasant land indeed – well at least in this one small corner of it!
These are the roses growing in my garden. The scent is wonderful and perfumes the air around the font door during June each year. I think May and June in England is beautiful.
Thank you for taking the time to engage with me….I can be a grumpy ***** sometimes and completely unreasonable (though that could be down to the menopause I ‘spose!)

Omg I love roses are those hybrid lavender?
The roses are called ‘Twice in a Blue Moon’. It’s an improved cultivar of the original ‘Blue Moon’. The bushes are Hybrid Tea which means you get lovely big flowers, and as I said the perfume is out of the world – indeed it’s heavenly!
thank you again Hampshire girl for thinking of me.. I am a simple bloke, and I fancy the smallest of things in life.. I don’t take the little things for granted anymore.. I so love the flowers … they are too gorgeous ..I haven’t too much seen your bitchy grumpy side, really..you seem to be quite full of passion to me, but nobody seems to take entire notice. As it appears to me, that would make them the unlucky ones..As far a burial, you can just throw me in the river Thames.. thank Is good enough for me..anyway thanks for thinking of me again, quite a thrill, really.
I go a bit doo-lally when people say they want to know me – or heaven forbid – actually like me! I’ve always just wanted to be accepted, but I think there’s something wrong with me ‘cos most of the time I’m ignored. Though it’s more than that, I actually feel invisible most of the time, rather than ignored. People just don’t seem to seem to see me. Sometimes it’s like I’m a ghost. Poor little ghost still doing the job she did when she was alive – nightmare!
I left you my email address on my response to the other post about jockstraps (can you really get edible ones?!).
thank you for leaving that for me..and yes they do have edible pants, but they do not however have the sportsnut variety yet..however, should be available in a shop near you soon..
I have rose hanging all done my fence and a huge American peace rose bush. The bloom year round.
I’m glad we don’t have the climate for year-long flowering because when it does happen, it’s all the more special. I do put lots of composted horse manure on them as well, so I can take some of the credit for how well they do!
LOL.
It is really arid around here with sandy soil and warm to OMFGITSHOT most of the year. The knock out climbing red roses are starting to bloom right now, they look like red velvet. That climbing bush blooms twice a year, spring and fall. The white, yellow and little red climbing roses will bloom in about three weeks then won’t bloom again. The American Peace rose though? That magnificent bush blooms on and off all year and it is taller than I am. Mostly though I just have cactus, hundreds of cactus that are just starting to bloom as well. My native aloe bloom on and off all year and the humming birds love the orange flowers.
Welcome to SAF SP gardening 101 right?
I reckon we should start up an SP gardening club. Gardening is reputed to be very therapeutic!

What’s your day looking like? Are you working on any writing projects? It’s just gone 1pm here and I’m going to get some lunch. Depression makes me hungry because I’ve got emotional depression and it’s a damn big hole I need to fill. There’s nothing else around but food…..
I will be back though….don’t go away!
I will be here… waiting

There are some real avid gardeners on this forum. I Darwin garden…Meaning if it doesn’t make it without me watering it, it can’t stay. I also xeroscape and am a registered wildlife habitat, which means if I don’t feel like mowing my lawn month I just point to my official wildlife habitat sign while flying them the middle flag.
