Is M&ms good enough… I fucked up the dough… Help! fml oh well cbf touching the dough I hate touching the dough and it won’t come off.. So one big giant cookie it is -3- with a whole packet of m&ms on top
It has been awfully quiet here the past week or so.
Peculiar.
There used to be an evening group that would chat up a storm from about 7 to about 12.
It’s as if they’re all gone.
You have just as much to contribute as we have…
That never stopped us before. 😉
Besides, we like hearing your updates about the living-in-the-woods situation.
And, if the current update is “I haven’t done a damn thing yet,” that still was valuable because we probably didn’t accomplish much that day either, and now we could feel like we were among friends who understood that.
Well, thanks. Things are kind of moving along except it seems as I’m probably taking the clan with me. Which is more of a story than I can even communicate.
I try not to post more than once a day, since I remember when I signed up, that was one of the cautions from the SP admins… they said one post per day should be enough, and if we posted more than that, we run the risk of having things deleted.
I don’t know if that’s in the FAQ somewhere, but I distinctly remember reading it.
So I try not to post a lot, or at least I let it average out to seven posts a week.
But I know what you mean; there just isn’t a lot of traffic lately.
I hope it’s just a normal phase of ups and downs; I’d hate to think the site was slowing down to a stop.
I almost said “dying out”, but then realized that would be a bad choice of words. 🙂
In real life I’m a very quiet person, and I don’t say much.
Here, my posts and comments can be strikingly long, which is an amusing contrast.
It’s one in the morning, and I’m rambling.
Yay for rambling.
This Friday I might even post drunken rambling.
If I’m lucky, someone might even be here to read it. 🙂
The idea was that I would love to be a supervillain, but because I’m depressed with no energy to do anything, I would probably fail miserably.
So I would just keep trying various evil plots, all of which would be foiled by some meddlesome superhero, and I would eventually die of frustration or old age or possibly an evil supervillain plot which went horribly awry.
There are many times I REALLY WANT to write some awesome piece of music that will make the world gasp and burst into awe-struck tears…
And when I actually sit down to write it, it sounds like a reject from Sesame Street, where Oscar The Grouch had amoebic dysentery.
For me I have been writing a ton of poetry, in hope of making a book. Since I got a letter from publisher looking to make a book deal, I’m completely blocked.
Usually, I write while I drive. I get in my zone. I’d say in a 14 hour trip I actively watch the road/ surroundings maybe 20% of the time. I’m either writing, on here, googling, something on my phone…
The longest I ever drove was from here to Cincinnati to visit some friends.
That took 6 or 7 hours, which was more than enough.
I have a bad habit of driving while distracted by other stuff.
I get in this irrational state of mind where I somehow expect the car to be able to drive itself.
Well when you drive a few thousand miles a week, it becomes 2nd nature. Sometimes I’m not even sure how I get somewhere. Like, right now. Little to no recollection of the last 2-300 miles
Do you usually use the same routes every time, so it’s all familiar?
That would make the “zoning out” a little safer. 😉
I have fears about getting lost.
Remember I once mentioned I’m afraid of divided highways.
Once I was driving back from Cincinnati, and I forget what happened, but somehow I made a wrong turn and ended up COMPLETELY lost on a busy freeway in Ohio.
Major panic attack.
I don’t even remember how I eventually found my way back to a familiar road.
Who needs horror movies when we have Interstate highways and Ohio drivers.
I do frequent the same places often. But, a lot of it is I guess like playing an instrument. At first it’s hard until you get muscle memory. I know every interstate, most US highways, a fair amount of state highways. So I don’t get lost, I just take a different route than I originally intended.
The only real worry I have is low clearance, bridges or power lines.
Coming back from Cincinnati… so did you screw up at Dayton or Toledo?
I’d bet Toledo, you ended up on I-475 instead of I-75
Syrup ville! Canada the land of maple. When I first started stalking you, you claimed to be a few hundred miles from Canada. Based on other conversation, you live under the bridge
Dayton! Dayton! Geez oh Pete’s. Lol… worst I ever did was out somewhere between Lodi and San Francisco, I was supposed to be going to Sacramento. Anyways, ended up on this skinny road, water ducts on both sides, no place wide enough to turn this big mofo around. Went like 3 hours the wrong way before I found a spot.
I can see how you’d be confused if you thought I meant the Canada that’s above the U.P.
As for the California thing, and going three hours the wrong way, I’m not sure what would kill me first… the feeling of being lost, or the aggravation of knowing I was headed in the wrong direction.
I’m not claustrophobic on elevators or MRI machines, but I sure am claustrophobic on divided highways.
The irony, of course, is that Thursday morning I have to drive briefly on a divided highway to get to the place that’s doing my MRI.
I”m not actually any good at piano. Give me sheetmusic and i’ll just stare at it and count notes for 4 hours. I memorize everything. I’m honestly not good at anything.
Thank you though. I thought of you too, when i heard about the Les Miserables symphony playing at a nearby nursing home i was working at.
I’ve still never heard you actually, physically play before. I think anyways.
If I had some decent recording equipment, I could post a quick blip of me playing some Mozart on the french horn, or some fun Irish thing on the harp. 😮
audacity doesn’t matter, you’d still need a microphone of some kind.
And you don’t need audacity, You can record audio, (with a mic needed, as always) without any programs. If you have windows 7 or around there, you can type in “sound recorder” in the start button search thing and it’ll give you a default sound recorder. You might need to turn up the volume, with a audio editing program though, because it usually records it really low. Movie maker might work for that.
Mics are cheap, especially the headset ones that have one built in. If you get an older one.
But im sure you’re not that dedicated to record yourself playing anyways. In case you were though..
OMG! Wow, I didn’t realize this laptop had a sound recorder built into it.
I went to the file-search, typed in “sound recorder”, and there it was!
I tested it, and it worked, even without a microphone.
The volume was great, but the quality was lousy.
Still, how exciting!
I remember many years ago when I had a blog, there was an Australian guy that would comment, and he called himself “Angry”… maybe it was “Angry Bear”. Something like that.

Im here and making cookies <3
I hope they involve chocolate.

That works.
Just cut it into big triangles and call it cookie pizza.
You Cordy… Are a genius -3-
Beau, participating for roll call.
Present and accounted for!
Here
It has been awfully quiet here the past week or so.
Peculiar.

It’s as if they’re all gone.
Very few comments.
Very strange.
Yay for those of you that are here, though.
I was beginning to feel like the black sheep of the sp-family.
Like none of you wanted to be the one to tell me I have toilet paper hanging from my shoe.
Thinking the same. I tend to be quiet after maybe eleven or twelve but I’m always here.
I’m glad it’s not just me that noticed!
I’ve noticed the quiet. Yet I have so little to contribute.
You have just as much to contribute as we have…

You contribute more than you think you do. 🙂
Yeah, Alan, I agree with Cordless.
Well, thanks. Things are kind of moving along except it seems as I’m probably taking the clan with me. Which is more of a story than I can even communicate.
The two kids, you mean?
And their momma, and the pets…
Holy crap!
You won’t be escaping from anything after all!
I thought the whole point of moving was to escape the hell.
I look forward to reading the post where you explain the whole thing.
(If you choose to write about it, of course.)
Damn.
Sorry.
I need to make sense of it first.
I promise I would tell any of you if you had toilet paper hanging from your shoe.
Well, at least I would make a post about it, and hope you read it.
I’ve been posting like mad. But it’s always quiet on my end anyways.
I try not to post more than once a day, since I remember when I signed up, that was one of the cautions from the SP admins… they said one post per day should be enough, and if we posted more than that, we run the risk of having things deleted.

Everyone is either moving on, dying, or down right now.
Thats life.
To an extent, I suppose that’s true.
There’s a bit of a turnover here; with new people coming and others leaving in various ways.
Even so, it’s quieter than it used to be.
Did you make pizza today?
I almost had pizza for dinner, and I thought of you. 🙂
At first my brain kept reading “I almost had you for dinner”
Fava beans… nice chianti…
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVlkZVAw8Gc
I made a few today, and tried an anchovie for the first time. Mistly took phone calls today. It was average today. Nothing special.
I’ve never tried anchovies!
Did you like it?
I can’t imagine fish on pizza.
It taste like salt an vegetable oil, that’s all.
Btw seafood if my favoirte type of food. I eat anything sea food.
Really? They don’t have a strong fishy taste?
I imagined they’d be like sardines, which I can’t stand.
I do love Caesar salad with real Caesar dressing, though, and I guess the authentic recipe includes anchovies in the dressing. So… okay! 🙂
I read a lot more than I post or comment. Too often far too lost in my own head
I got lost in my own head once, and it took me forever to remember where I put the flashlight.
Drawing. Checking the forum now and then.
Did you ever draw the comic about me being a supervillain taking over the world?
Give me the background and I’ll draw it for you this week.
Or maybe it was beaubri that was going to do that…
Yeah…. sorry I got my sp-people mixed up.
That was beaubri.
My apologies.
Of course, if you would like to draw that too, feel free.
I started it, it will take a while. Lost motivation though. Itll be an on and off thing.
🙂
In my artistic endeavors, I find I don’t have inspiration when I have motivation, then when my muse strikes I’m too fucking depressed to do anything.
That happens with me a lot too.
There are many times I REALLY WANT to write some awesome piece of music that will make the world gasp and burst into awe-struck tears…

For me I have been writing a ton of poetry, in hope of making a book. Since I got a letter from publisher looking to make a book deal, I’m completely blocked.
So eventually I can say I’m being stalked by a famous author!
That would be awesome.
Do you think of poetry when you drive, or do you have to be quiet and still and peaceful with no distractions?
Usually, I write while I drive. I get in my zone. I’d say in a 14 hour trip I actively watch the road/ surroundings maybe 20% of the time. I’m either writing, on here, googling, something on my phone…

I get in this irrational state of mind where I somehow expect the car to be able to drive itself.
Or maybe it was closer to 7 or 8 hours.
Heck, I don’t remember.
It was about 10 years ago, and my memory is made of marshmallows these days.
Well when you drive a few thousand miles a week, it becomes 2nd nature. Sometimes I’m not even sure how I get somewhere. Like, right now. Little to no recollection of the last 2-300 miles
Also… no way your a couple hundred miles from Syrup ville.
Do you usually use the same routes every time, so it’s all familiar?
That would make the “zoning out” a little safer. 😉

Syrup-ville?
I remember Cincinnati did this weird thing where they put cinnamon in their chili, and poured it on top of spaghetti.
Aaccgggh.
I do frequent the same places often. But, a lot of it is I guess like playing an instrument. At first it’s hard until you get muscle memory. I know every interstate, most US highways, a fair amount of state highways. So I don’t get lost, I just take a different route than I originally intended.

It was Dayton.
(**shudder**)
LOL.
I believe when I said that, I was referring to the Canada that is on the other side of Detroit.
Dayton! Dayton! Geez oh Pete’s. Lol… worst I ever did was out somewhere between Lodi and San Francisco, I was supposed to be going to Sacramento. Hiya Cordless, your number one fan is present and accounted for *holds up peace sign* ^_^ V
Yay!
Thank you for not deserting me in my hour of need.
Or loneliness… or boredom, or whatever this is.
*waves*
(*waves back*)
Hey there, chordful
LOL!
🙂
We had symphony rehearsal tonight.
One of the pieces is Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana.
It includes a part for grand piano.
Thought of you.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXFSK0ogeg4
I”m not actually any good at piano. Give me sheetmusic and i’ll just stare at it and count notes for 4 hours. I memorize everything. I’m honestly not good at anything.

My video quality is terrible. But i know you can at least do the same as me. I don’t need 1080p or anything, just would like to hear you play.
you dont have to though, of course
I have to admit I have no gadget capable of recording video.
Sadly, my phone does nothing more than call/text people.
I’d be happy if I could at least find something capable of recording audio files.
Awhile back, someone recommended something called Audacity.
I still haven’t checked it out.
audacity doesn’t matter, you’d still need a microphone of some kind.
And you don’t need audacity, You can record audio, (with a mic needed, as always) without any programs. I’m tired though and today isn’t too well. I might talk tomorrow or so.
Audacity is good, but you need a good mic and like a mixer or something
OMG! Wow, I didn’t realize this laptop had a sound recorder built into it.

I tested it, and it worked, even without a microphone.

If you send me a recording I could possibly clean it up a tad
Yo peeps whats good??
For some reason I imagined you saying that with a British accent.
Not even sure how that would work… 😉
I. Am. AUSSIE, I said it with such an aussie accent not that theres much to be said with an accent but yeah i did
Really? I didn’t know about the aussie-ness.
I remember many years ago when I had a blog, there was an Australian guy that would comment, and he called himself “Angry”… maybe it was “Angry Bear”. Something like that.
