Hey guys,
I would like to ask for someone who ever attempted suicide by overdose of medication or even who has any knowledge about it. Does it hurt to kill myself with sleeping pills (Ambien/Zolpidem) and alcohol? How long I will wait to finally pass out? Yeah I’m a coward, afraid to feel pain or those horrible sensations such as tachycardia, shortness of breath and seizure.
I really appreciate if you can help me.
Thanks

Does it hurt? I have never done it, but I have seen people overdose dozens of times. Here’s what I know:
Take too much and your body will try to puke it up, it may even succeed at getting enough out to stop you.
Take too little and you will wake up with a hang over and possibly other effects like mild to moderate brain damage.
Get caught and you will wind up with a tube down your nose, possibly one in your windpipe, I needles in your arm, and a lot to explain.
Succeed and people who care about you, even those who barely know you will be very hurt. I lost a co-worker that I did not know well 10 years ago. Every year on the day he did it I think of him. The entire place was in shock for weeks.
There’s my two cents. The choice is yours.
THanks for your answer. I have no doubts about what I want to do, but after reading a lot about do it with medication I realize that’s unlikely get it. The pills have low dosage of the active ingredient and the doctor always give prescription to buy just one bottle for month. I read reports about people who take more than 200 pills and survive. I wish I have courage to hang myself or throw me in front of a truck.
There is always pain in suicide. Yours, theirs, no difference really. To end the pain, pain is caused.
At some point your lungs will stop working along with the muscles in your throat. It wold feel like drownine but without water. Your mouth will possibly fill with vomit. At this point you w I’ll be awake. But unable to do anything about it.
Yeah takes all the romance out of suicide when it is hammered out in real life terms.
It sounds awful. Do you know how long it takes until the person pass out?
This medicine is not used for self-deliverence. You will almost certainly get sick to your stomach, and if caught you will land in the behavioral health ward.
I hate to be so honest here, but I’m going to anyway:
Real information about how meds work for this is not to be found by asking others. Genuine research is required. There is a massive amount of misinformation on the internet, and also a lot people misusing drugs in failed suicide attempts. Even those who provide correct information got their information from a reliable source and not from someone who is guessing.
Taking the time to real research allows you to truly know what you want and have an understanding of what to expect.
Thank you for your honesty.
I am doing research on this and have found some information. But here people are more reliable and sincere. I know it’s not the ideal place to ask this kind of thing. Obviously it would be much more effective hang me or throw me a bridge, but I have no courage. I can only use medication and, according to what I’ve researched, I know it probably doesn’t work. I read reports of people who took hundreds of pills and survived.
Yeah, very few people take the right combination of the right ones in the right quantities. It’s usually an impulsive act and that’s why it fails so very frequently.
It feels like one thousand fish nibbling on your toes and each fish has the face of your creepy uncle and gum disease, wearing a bow tie made of old cheese on a unicycle in a hole on a log at the bottom of the sea.
Or so I’ve been told.
ok…
that’s really a bad question, i overdosed before on alcohol and meds by accident, almost killed me, it was nothing enjoyable, not like in the movies laying on a bed folding your hands together smiling ahh! good bye everyone!!! nope first your staggering around not knowing what your doing running into things, bumping your head falling down, then you get the cold sweats! then the throwing up starts, awww! throwing up everything including your shoes! laying on the floor just wishing you would die! Nope not a good way to go.
Man I can’t count how many times I drank myself into near death waking up in a pile of vomit. Good times.
Unbelievable. I came to the conclusion that there is no painless way to die
pretty much.
Yes trying to kill yourself with meds can be hurtful. Especially if you dont succeed in killing yourself… which is usually the case you can do damage to your stomach and other organs in your body by attempting this. A person is successful with this kind of attempt I think the pain would be minimal
Just want to let you know I tried to end myself by overdosing on a form of sleeping pills and I wound up in a coma in the hospital for 2 days and then had to go to the psych ward and apparently I fell and busted up my left hand and it took months for my hand to recover > not to mention a hoard of doctors bills.
so yes > suicide is usually painful in more ways then one.
I’m thinking of , first, take two or three pills to stay with enough sleep . When I’m falling asleep I take all the other pills with alcohol. So, when the symptoms start I will be unconscious and will not feel much discomfort. What do you think? Can it works?
People who are asleep don’t take pills. I know plenty of combinations that can work. Thing is, fail and your life gets 100x worse. Overdoses are infamous for being miserable, and not the effective. Why not try talking to someone about what’s putting you in this place, and work from there.
Thanks for answer. I meant when I’m almost falling asleep. Sorry, my english is not good.
I’ve talked to professionals and thought a lot about it . It is not a thoughtless decision. If I tell my email, can you tell me about these combinations? Please
Hmmm… well, as someone who has tried this method 3 times (using what you describe).. Yes, THREE. I can tell you no, it did not hurt. But it obviously did not work either. It did cause me to puke up and pass out, I can’t remember in which order though. The first two times, I was taken to hospital and it did cause me to get very low body temp. I was put in a warming bag. Within 24 hours of each time, I was out of hospital again. But note: I’m only talking about sleeping pills with alcohol. Other combinations of meds, I do not have knowledge of.
Sorry about your bad experience. Are you feeling better now? Well, I think it’s time to think of another method. Not because of the pain, but because probabily won’t work.
Thanks for you answer.
Yes, I had no long-term damage from it. But I would never try it again because, honestly, you are right – it’s got such a low chance of being effective.
I can’t do that. Not that part of me doesn’t want to. I would be risking getting in a cubic ton of trouble. There are no particularly nice ways to die toxicologically. If you are determined to go by poison, because med at those doses are poisons consider broadening it. But beware, none of them are nice ways to die.
