It gets dark around 5:30 this time of year.
Even though I love being concealed by the darkness, I still have mixed thoughts about it.
That feeling of “I accomplished absolutely nothing today” arrives 4 hours sooner than it does in summer.
Humorous and discouraging all at once.

I dunno, for me it arrives together with the feeling of:
“Ah, too late to accomplish anything today. Might as well head to the shops for some comfort food and then find some mindless entertainment for the evening.”
I mean, it is pointless and lonelye, but it is something to do.
“Lonelye” being Shakesperian for “lonely”.
LOL.
That works for me.
Lonelye thou art, as am i.
I work nights so i sleep in usually. Woke up at 2pm today. The sky is orange and by the time i;m eating breakfest people are coming home from work. My afternoon nap reflex kicked in and i went back to bed for a few hours.
Let’s talk about useless days!
I’m usually the nocturnal type, so I’m awake most of the might and sleep most of the day.
It seems like in winter I wake up just in time to see the sunset.
Yep. I know what you’re talking about.
Then I’m not alone.
🙂
I love the meme.
For some reason it makes me want ice cream.
Nice post, Cordless. If we could extend winter by two hours and shorten summer by two hours, that could work.
You want MORE winter?
Tell ya what.
We can do a straight trade.
I’ll trade you 4 weeks of my winter in exchange for 4 weeks of your summer.
I should have phrased my comment better. Ooops!
In winter, we lose four hours (as you noted above). My idea was to extend daylight in winter by two hours and sacrifice two hours of daylight in summer. That way, the days would be more equal year-round and winter wouldn’t be as brutal.
I hope that makes more sense.
Yes!
That’s a picture of carwash soap isn’t it? Always wondered why it is so colorful.
Isn’t it the brushes that are colourful? I remember the soap as being white?
That feeling of wasting the day is very familiar to me as well. Sleep, eat, lay in bed, sleep, eat, lay in bed. Rinse and repeat. That’s all I do now.
