Any movies / shows / animes / documentaries you’d recommend? Something that you love so much that you’d actually seriously recommend others watch it? I like a lot of shows, but I rarely love something so much that that I’d actually recommend it to others (I have a very short list).

Try westworld. Probably the best first season of a show I’ve ever seen
oh yeah, i was waiting for the season to end to start watching it (i hate to wait week after week for for an episode to come out). Now that it’s over, time to watch…
Hedwig and the Angry Inch
I mainly watch anime my top 4 pick all four are not to be disappointing
1) DEATH NOTE
2) TOKYO GHOUL
3) Claymore
4) Attack On Titan
I am currently watching Ajin and I like it it has to do with a teenage boy that is discovered to be immortal it’s really brutal but interesting
1- DEATH NOTE- my all time FAVE! – any other anime even remotely like DN? Dark, yet intellectual.
2- Tokyo Ghoul – will have to check it out
3- Claymore- will have to check it out
4- Attack on Titan- the first few episodes were awesome, but then it got boring. does it get better again? i’ve basically watched until they found out the “titan” was the boy…
Yeah attack on Titan is slow at first but it gets crazy after episode 4.
Same goes for Tokyo ghoul
Here is links for Tokyo ghoul
– season one http://ww1.gogoanime.io/category/tokyo-ghoul
– season two is http://ww1.gogoanime.io/category/tokyo-ghoul-a
They are both Japanese with English subtitles
– Claymore just gets down to the point

Oh now we’re talking! Just like sadlife958 recommended, I second his advice on Tokyo Ghoul. Watch all seasons and OVAs (we get the live action movie this year, btw).
Attack on Titan is great, just need to get through the slow episodes as with any story before it picks up.
SeeSmith recommended the movie Hedwig and the Angry Inch. A must watch if you’re into trans musicals. The OST is awesome and the story is told in a comedic, sarcastic, and dramatic way.
I would add Kinky Boots to this too, which is another similar film with a different twist.
Want to laugh and say WTF?! Go for One Punch Man. The manga is great but the anime is off the hook!
Now, if you are easily triggered, don’t, but I can also suggest the polish film Sala Samobójców (Suicide Room). Really good depending on your taste and age range.
For shows ans laughs, check out Key and Peele’s videos on YouTube (too bad their show is ending).
Take care!
Tokyo Ghoul is indeed worth watching, but there are so many other good animes though.
Movies – The Automatic Hate, House of Sand and Fog, The Grey, My Summer of Love, The Revenant, The Bucket List, Veronika Decides to Die, Gran Torino
Documentaries – Mayday aka Air Crash Investigation, I Shouldn’t be Alive, Locked up Abroad, The New Detectives, The FBI Files, Deadly Women
Bojack Horseman on Netflix. Especially if you have depression, the characters are so real and so tragic. I empathize with Bojack a lot. He has the same problems I do. I wish I could stay alive long enough for the 4th season but I don’t see it happening.
I think everyone should watch Leonardo DiCaprio’s documentary Before the Flood. Not that it is super intellectual, it is just important.
There is an excellent YouTube channel called Primitive Technology. About a silent guy in the bush that makes things with his bare hands.
If Our Bodies Could Talk are hilarious videos about various health-related subjects.
Microtopia is a good documentary on micro dwelling.
And I’m partial to Jerry Seinfeld’s show Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.
to many movies that i love to list and recommend all, thought i did make a partial list in one of my earlier post in december “update: what i’m “busy” doing now”, but as indicated in the post that list is part of my “something”, so not a complete list of all lovely movies in existence
for documentaries, I love anything “Nature”, calming, lovely and wonderful, and once in a while you even get surprised by something like a land walking octopus
the “wake up world and smell reality” documentaries, while good, is just a tad too upsetting at times, and really doesn’t seem like the world is that interested in waking up much less listen and change, so not so much prone to watch something these days just to upset me.
I think Tv shows can be hard to recommend, since it can be good, but still have some of the few terribad moments/episodes, that detract a bit
but for me i suppose i’m quite partial to: Supernatural (yay go Winchesters), Shameless(US), Warehouse 13, House M.D., Firefly (fuck fox), Sherlock, Mr, Robot, S.O.A., Lucifer (despite being way more cop buddy than expected), Dexter, Hannibal, and Xena for good measure, and a bunch more (most of them cancelled), brain fart can’t remember a ton of names right now,
and for the bit more cheery moments, The Big Bang Theory, The Good Place, and No Tomorrow, sometimes silly is nice.
Hey _Darkness
What kind of animes do you like?
Action, Romance (I don’t watch shoujo or josei romance animes though. sorry), slice of life, fantasy, comedy,..?
About movies, well if you like military movies then I would recommend Black hawk down, Lone survivor and American sniper.
I don’t really watch TV shows or documentaries that often, so I can’t help you out with that.

I like action animes- things involving ninjas, superpowers, supernaturals, fighting, death, stuff like that. I like Death Note, used to like Naturo and Bleach, but usually veer to the lesser known and lesser popular animes. I like the more intellectual animes, like Death Note and Kaiji. I like…dark anime lol. Death and shinigami’s and such.
No, no romance, rom-coms, blech
Not into military movies either
_darkness
Allright, I used to be a fan of action animes too!
But I prefer slice of life/school animes now though.
Well the genre doesn’t really matter actually, as long as the story itself is interesting ofcourse.
My recommended action animes are:
– Ao no exorsist (1 season + movie, but they are airing season 2 right now too)
– Owari no Seraph
– Bungou Stray Dogs
– Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu
– Guilty Crown
– Psycho pass
– Akame Ga Kill
– Mirai Niki
Others I recommend, but I don’t know if these are what you’re searching for:
– Steins;Gate
– Danganronpa series
– Aldnoah.zero
– Durarara
– Devil survivor 2
– Btooom!
– Zankyou no terror
If you like gore:
– Corpse party
– Another
I can recommend some more, but they aren’t action animes.
They are interesting though, so let me know if you want their names.

Haven’t watched PUPA yet, but I heard that’s really disgusting… 0.o

My watched anime movies:
– Kimi no Na wa. (really good movie!)
– Koe no katachi (Not released yet, but I read the manga, and I liked it)
– Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushitsu (Watch the seasons first though)
– Steins;Gate Fuka Ryouiki no Deja-vu
– 5 centimeters per second.
– The girl who leapt through time.
I have more, but’ll stop here…
Damn, I really look like a really big anime fan lol! I only watch it cuz I enjoy watching it, and I don’t even have figures, anime backgrounds, anime pillows, etc lol.
(there is nothing wrong if you do have these things!)
I also don’t spent all my time on anime.. lol

Also loved:
Kaiji
Darker than Black
Black Butler
Ghost in the Shell
Hunter x Hunter (original version)
Hey darkness, one more of my fav movies – Sideways.
It’s kinda sad yet so light and funny at times. Highly recommended.
And, if you choose to watch it, please please please … drink a bottle of wine while watching 🙂
