There’s a fine line between “Adversity Builds Character” and “Please Just Shoot Me Now”.
I try to strike a balance halfway, but sometimes it’s a stretch.
Good news, sort of: Bought two new strong aluminum canes with a pretty leafy green vine print on them. And, since the last time I posted in 2016, I got a brand new wheelchair for indoors. Currently it’s in the kitchen, right next to the fridge, so when I want a bottle of water or tea, all I have to do is sit there and enjoy.
About 2 weeks ago I got the strap fixed on the leg braces, so it’s much easier to put them on.
I know it sounds like weird things to be grateful for, but I’m still thankful anyway.
And yet, yeah… there are still those days when I’m not ok with things. Which is why I came back here.
That and the fact that I missed the old group of pals I had. Nice to see that some of you are still here after all this time.

Hi, Cordless. Your name is definitely familiar (I previously went by “Wittie”).
Glad for your new equipment and that it makes life a little easier.
“A little easier”… Yes, that’s a good way to describe it.
Newest thing is that I keep spraining my wrist because of the pressure I put on the canes whenever I walk with them. At least I HOPE it’s a sprain instead of a hairline fracture. I wear a wrist splint/brace for extra support. Seems to help, though it’s awkward to type. Ha. I keep having to backspace and fix typos.
Wouldn’t it be great if we could “backspace and fix typos” in actual life?
Imagine: “Gosh, I probably should have paid more attention before pushing the gas pedal and plowing into that cement pole. Look at that dent! No problem; I’ll just backspace to about 40 seconds beforehand, and drive a little further to the right…”
Based on a true story. (Except for the ability to backspace and fix it).
I have the dent in my fender to prove it.
$%@!&.
That would be fucking fantastic! Rewrite/edit. But then I’d spend more time editing than living.
Typo’s don’t count in my book.
Backspace and Typos in real life fix. Good Idea.
I’m looking to uninstall, format and reinstall.
I’d be glad if they could just buff out my scratches and fix the bugs in the system.
Hello Cordless.
I have been a lurker here off and on for a few years.
Your picture used to trip me out, i’m sure it was always changing direction.
Then again i was high as a kite most nights then 🙂
OMG. yeah, I used to change my picture ALL the time.
I’ll probably keep doing that, eventually.
Glad you remember!
🙂
Fuck. Blast from the past lol
Good to meet ya
MidMon,
Now I’m a little creeped out. How long have you been a voyeur? 😉
‘observer’ mate.
I never got a kick out of it……sometimes
“Honest, officer, I wasn’t peering into their bedroom window; I’m just a casual observer.”
🙂
What. My trousers officer……errrrrrr
Seriously? lol.
Officer: “How long have you been peeking into her window?”
MM: “Often enough to know the lacy underwear looks a lot better than the cotton ones she wore on taco night.”
Officer: “That’s terrible.”
MM: “Shhhh…. here she comes with dinner. It’s chili dog night.”
I really don’t have a retort for this cordless. haha
The wrong word or phrase could get me in serious fucking trouble on this site lol.
You win 1-0
well played.
Brilliant.
It’s good to have reasons to be grateful, no matter the reason.
True!
I’m not here. I’m a phantasm.
I was a phantasm last Friday.
Saturday I kept craving BBQ chicken.
No correlation… probably.
I’m glad you’re still around. My kitten is craving chicken today, but that’s just a Monday for him and I don’t think he’s a phantasm. He’s a ghoul, but that’s another story.
I miss having cats.
They were such good company, and just evil enough so I felt like I was among good friends.
LOL.
(Note to self: Google “phantasm” to find out what it is.)
Cordless, it was great meeting you. I admire your quick wit and your love of beauty. Wish you the best.
Hey Scout,
I’m going to bed. May listen to erotic poems to go to sleep with, i dunno.
You take care of yourself mate. It was really nice speaking with you as always.
Cordless, great to meet you. Gonna have to be more dicreet with my window watching though.
goodnight all
Linda-leslie-boo
good nite all
mm-boo, whatever gets u thru the nite
MM and SQ: Good to meet you also.
🙂
Cordless! I’m so happy to see you again. Well, as happy as I can be to see someone *here*, of course. But you know what I mean. 🙂
And it’s never bad to be thankful for something. I’m glad to hear that you still have things to be thankful for, even though you have bad days. I hope that your good days will start to outnumber your bad ones.
Whiskered Fish!
Hi there!
Good to see you’re still here too.
You’re definitely an unforgettable member of SP (in a good way). Hi Cordless. Here’s hoping you’ve returned more for the community than for the suicide aspect… either way, sending good vibes. 🙂
Nepheliad!
Hello and thank you for the good vibes.
Nice to see yet another familiar face/name.
🙂
