What have I got myself into. I’m supposed to “babysit” a 13 year old and 11 year old boy this summer. 8 hours, 3 days a week. 24 hours/week. I’m supposed to “keep them busy” and do some chores. What the hell am I supposed to do to keep 2 teenage boys occupied? I’m meeting them tomorrow, and their dad (my friend), at Culvers! Only part I’m excited about is Culvers. MMM… Anyway, what did you boys like to do when you were 11 and 13?

LMAO. Back out NOW! LOL!!
I guess at that age they know better than anyone else how to keep themselves busy. You would just have to keep them from doing anything stupid.
WW2 re-enactments plus fally
fally and keeping them from killing each other?
Well good luck with that.
11-13 was the age i had no idea of my own mortality.
Going out for a bike ride could quickly turn into messing around on building sites, jumping off of roofs and every kind of stupid and dangerous thing in between.
To be fair, this was pre-internet days so there was nothing else to do, but go out with like minded individuals and stir up a wave of shit in the local community as only young lads can do.
Will they have to stay in? If so, stick them in front of a console with GTA and you’ll probably have no troubles.
Let them out on their own and be prepared for anything.
Thanks, that makes me feel so much better…
But, then again, there are all types of teenage boys. I think they’ll be better than complete little terrors. Also, they might even be down and quiet. Their mom is dying probably sometime this summer.
sinac.
Sorry about that. But forewarned is forearmed mate.
At age 13, all I wanted to do was find some peace and quiet so I could write in my journal.
A potato could’ve babysat me, and I would still have been fine.
LOL.
But I’m guessing that teenage/preteen boys are something else entirely.
Good luck!!
🙂
Yh, I’m guessing girls don’t tend to get exited at the thought of throwing stones at windows, to hear the glorious sound of breaking glass.
I know for fact only because I baby sat some kids (there where 7 of them DX I almost died)
Anyways, I had to keep the baby in my arms the WHOLE night even while it was asleep
Well the 3 boys really liked to play video games but if they don’t have any of those, try board games or card games. Keeps them busy for a long time…no matter what their age is. Always have their minds busy and thinking hard. I learned that the hard way
Puberty… Those were such great years! Good luck LOL
Set limits, reason, and be responsive to emotional needs.

Well, good luck. As a 13 years old kid I would do all sort of stupid things like riding on bicycle on streets between cars… With some rest time with a good book.
