Am I the only one who doesn’t like pets? Today, everyone loves cats or dogs, but I dont feel that way. Of course I do not tolerate mistreatment, but I don’t care that much about animals. I am more concern about human suffering.
My family has had various pets over time, including birds, cats and dogs. They can be a lot of fun and they develop a close bond with you. They are also very selfless and can sense when you’re not feeling well-even when humans can’t.
However as much as I like them, I personally wouldn’t own any because they’re just too much work imo. I don’t want to have to clean up after them, take care of them when they’re sick, then deal with the grief of when they pass away.
I oppose all suffering human or animal-unfortunately we live in a pretty harsh world and there is a lot of needless suffering going on. Unless you have the power to change it, like being the president, not a lot can be done…we just have to help in our own small spheres where we can.
I live pet free too. There is no way I could give them the attention and care they would need. I tried to make it work for years and realized in the end it does not work for me.
I have never understood the way people speak to pets as though they understood. A lizard does not know or care about you and any affection a dog shows you is simply the favorable habits of that breed saved and honed through domestication.
I dont care if the dog has big eyes and is adorably/pathetically small. That is just how it was designed to be for our amusement. When the dog speaks to me and empathizes with my human suffering perhaps then we can form a bond, so long as being pathetic and useless and adorable is its principle means of obtaining support (foodshelter) i don’t care to look at it or play with it and i’d rather not be around any of you who do that ridiculous baby talk.
Sorry, i can’t even form emotional bonds with humans, i sure as hell ccan’t with an animal.
When its down to a choice of a) me not saying anything, b) talking to myself, or c) talking to my pet lizard. I choose the lizard, even though I know he lacks the mammalian part of the brain to process attachment. Not saying that this is a good way of doing things – merely explaining the logic behind my personal preference to converse with animals that have no concept of what I am saying.
This was a really dickish post to make right after someone posted a heartbreaking post about the loss of a beloved pet. Yeah you’re really “more concern about human suffering”
No get it right you are just more concerned about yourself and your suffering. Nobody cares if you don’t like pets. Every person on this planet would be a better person to have experienced the love an animal can bring you. I have compassion for humans to but sadly they cause their own suffering whereas animals suffer mainly through the hands of the human race.
Wow, so much hate for someone who doesn’t care for pets. Let’s lynch all all non-pet lovers!! It’s not like OP said he wants to kill them all, he just doesn’t care for pets. It’s like someone saying he doesn’t care for pizza or burgers. So? Just someone’s opinion. Doesn’t affect your life. Chill, pet owners.
eternaldarkness, that is not what this is about. Someone posted about being suicidal due to the loss of a dear pet. Right after, this rude ass makes a post saying he doesn’t like pets.
Put this in perspective. You just made a post complaing “I have been yelled at for “breathing too loud.”
How would you like it if I made a post right now saying “I hate people who whine about being yelled at for breathing too loud”?
wanttodie2 is just being an insensitive jerk, and you’re defending him.

I feel truly sorry for anyone who can’t find comfort in animals. Your life must be really hopeless if all you have is the human race to believe in.

Are you serious? Do you think I read every post here?

Animals dont have sentiments, they cant bring love. It is just instinct. People are so needy that they see love where there is none.
I hate everything, I even hate my own breathing
