Let’s share some music; suicidal and sad specially. I recommend “No Surprises” by Radiohead and “Take Me Somewhere Nice”, Mogwai. Does anyone know anything to share? I also like instrumental music.
perhaps i will send you a copy of my record once it’s finished. it’s in the spectrum of sad, but it’s mostly sad/angry/hopeful/confused and outright desperate. imagine each feeling is a color, and it’s all mixed into one, one sloppy mess, splashed all over the wall. i’m obsessed with the “in betweens” of everything. the music is still in it’s infancy stage, but, i’m hoping to have it done soon enough. i’m willing to mail anyone a free copy if they’re genuinely interested.
You might enjoy some of these songs, it’s my comfort music:
Home – Resonance
Saint Pepsi – Enjoy yourself
Chrome Sparks – Marijuana
Funny Death – Love Casette From The Future
Low Roar – I’ll Keep Coming
Moon Taxi – Two High
Petit Biscuit – Sunset Lover
New Order – True Faith
I hope you enjoy at least one of these songs 🙂
I like those suggestions. My favorite suicidal song is Loaded Shotgun in the Closet by The Drive-By Truckers. It really explains my life to a T. Check it out, it will hit you deep.
Anything by Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Probably my favorite band of all time, as well as completely instrumental. Thee Silver Mt Zion Memorial Orchestra is great too. Farthest thing from instrumental, but they have a hope-centric, communal, frailty to them that makes them really something special.
A superb idea. I’m battling ideation so much, there’s no room in my head or heart for music. Too much other noise. I have an extensive music library with super sad pity party songs, and meaningful, gut wrenching . . . The World is on Fire by Sarah McLaughlin comes to mind off the top of my head. Soldier of Love, by Sade is helpful to pick ourselves by the bootstraps for another hour….

Nana – Lonely
Moby – Why does my heart feel so bad
Moby – Porcelain (be sure to select US version video)
The Marmalade – Reflections of My Life (with lyrics)
these two are real sleepers to most, but those of us on here will understand them right away
Billie Holiday – Gloomy Sunday
this vintage classic leaves nothing to the imagination

Oh wow! I am listening to Radiohead – No Surprises ( with lyrics). It is as profound as it is beautiful. This is going into my playlist.

Anything by Dax Riggs. Radiation Blues is great but confusingly energetic.
