I don’t want to be here anymore

I’m just a plain, dull 40 year old man, which sucks, but I have a strong work ethic and I’m still relatively healthy and strong.

But my work ethic is being demolished at my job by one person.  It’s a full time job I’ve had for 18 years (8 years in my current department) and I’ve been full time since 2023.

I was warned by many senior employees about her.  How nasty and toxic she is.  How she will say she does EVERYTHING and will “stab me in the back.”

So she got transferred to my store and all the warnings people said to me about her are true.  However she has plenty of people who she’s befriended with.  I don’t know why she hates me so much.

I have a very strong work ethic.  And this morning she says I messed EVERYTHING up before thanksgiving and that she had to fix everything I messed up on my days off.  (There’s a lot more she said,  but let’s just say she is TOXIC AS HELL!)  Well, my store is extremely busy and I can’t maintain organization in the cooler because we had so much stuff…. so many products…. and so much overstock that it’s common sense that things won’t be perfect like she wants it.  She just kept putting me down with her words like I’m such a terrible worker and I don’t deserve to be here.  I thought it was more important to have products on the shelves in the right spot so that we don’t run out of it on the shelves, but apparently I need to maintain PERFECT organization in the back cooler all at the same time.  It was right before thanksgiving!  Give me a break!  Things will get out of order in the back cooler.  Customers can’t go back there anyway!  And I do keep the back cooler organized, but it was right before thanksgiving!  It’s too busy to maintain perfect organization in the back cooler when it’s CRAZY BUSY and there’s so many customers you can barely walk on the floor!!!

I don’t know what to do.  I go to work early in the morning and she just constantly puts me down.  I don’t want to give examples, but if I had a hidden camera, you’d see how much she is destroying my dignity and self-worth.

And to top it all off, the District Manager is obsessed with her.  She told me that the DM asked her if he could CLONE her because there’s no Department Lead who does as good a job as she does.  And this is not the first time the DM has praised her.  What the hell?
