Some years ago I went to an exceptional endocrinologist who explained to me that, despite my thyroid levels being “normal” the actual “normal” was vastly different. Apparently true normal falls within a narrower range than the mathematical average.
It took about 18 months to find the sweet spot, but once found, suddenly I was no longer depressed or suicidal. I am here now because a different endocrinologist lowered by medication.
I am not telling you that you are misdiagnosed, only that it is worth checking out. Advocate for yourself.
Give yourself grace while holding yourself accountable. Improvement can happen.
Our beloved SP admin may ban me for quoting scripture in another post in which I felt necessary given the context in which s/he quoted it. So if I am banned, know that I am praying for all of you, admin too.
So many Christians, now and in history, do not reflect the love of the One they profess belief in. It is one thing to believe, another to follow, another to be a disciple, and yet another to be a servant of The Anointed One.
Just because His believers are unloving doesn’t mean He is unloving. Just because He is misquoted doesn’t mean His own words are untrue. Make up your own mind about who He is. God bless.

A doctor suggested thyroid medicine to me once, what exactly does the thyroid do/what does it affect, can you tell me?
it helps with fatigue/lethargy
It does a lot of things, including affecting mental activity and metabolism. Depression and anxiety can be symptoms.
I have had no ill side effects from thyroid medication, whereas when I was treated with antidepressants I became actively suicidal or anxious or felt out of body. In one instance it created a sort of euphoria which they then tried to label me bipolar.
I am not saying there aren’t people who can benefit from psychiatric drugs, I’m sure they have their place. I just wonder why there isn’t more dialogue amongst health care professionals regarding the endocrine system’s impact on mental health symptoms.

1- bc a healed patient is no longer a customer
2- bc the phar.maceutical industry makes literal BILLIONS from pushing psych drugs
“Apparently true normal falls within a narrower range than the mathematical average.”
>>The “range” is bullsh*t. It is made by whom? By the rich who make TONS of $$$ from ppl being sick. Those “ranges” oare all bunk- the TRUE range of healthy is very different from what we’re told is the “normal” range. The range we see is “average,” but the average American is sick, obese and unhealthy. So do we really want to be the statistical average (median)?
So many people I know are on thyroid meds which makes me wonder about contributing environmental factors: plastics, high fructose corn syrup, artificial dyes, preservatives, & sweeteners, insecticides, herbicides, antibiotics? It’s not just genetic.
Haven’t researched it.
