I’m taking a class right now that requires me to write a persuasive essay on something that I’m passionate about.  I’m not really passionate about anything but I think about suicide most of the time.  That not really being a topic I feel like writing an essay about, it got me thinking further and I decided that, legalizing Euthanasia for terminally ill patients, would be a pretty controversial argument to present.  I would like to present it as being beneficial for the individual as well as society.  I am asking for anyone’s input on how they feel about this subject whether they are for it or against it.  Any comments are greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

For some members of my profession it should be considered mandatory.
@duke, what is it you do?
euthanasia should be a choice thats just there – if they did tests to make sure you weren’t on any drugs or drunk when you went in there, should be a individual choice and decision
I agree oneinse7enbillion, in Switzerland where it is legal they have the person undergo surveys to make sure they are of sound mind and are capable of drinking the poison themselves. It has also been shown that many that have gone in and been evaluated never go back because the psychological benefit of knowing they have that choice aids them in realizing their individual autonomy.
