For a long time now I have been ‘depressed’ or maybe it’s ‘enlightened’ I don’t know. I have not participated (as much as possible) in general life as I have come to find nothing but lies there. Today, I decided to go online and catch up with what’s happening in the world and check out what lies are being inflicted on us lately, as now I feel in a place in my head where I can view them objectively. I came across Big Brother (the UK one), this is a program that I have never watched, stuff like this was never of interest to me anyway. I saw it as a bunch of stupid ego’s talking crap all in the same place. However, today I viewed an episode online and what I saw was so blindingly obvious that I am wondering (hoping to god) that others see this too.
The big brother house is simply a condensed story of human life. All these contestants enter the house with illusions of happiness (fame and wealth). They want this happiness so much that they truly believe that their stay in the house (life) is a test, which will throw obstacles and moral dilemmas at them. Now although they have the option to chose well morally, they feel that is a weakness and so nearly always chose the not so moral choice. Oh of course they cry and cry about the option they have chosen, and suffer the consequences, but they are led to believe that in order to win the prize they have no other option. Some of the contestants can’t handle being in the house and feel inside that something is very wrong (life) and they are turning into someone that they don’t wish to be (this is said a lot!) and so they visit the diary room (their conscious), and talk it through. They often talk about leaving the house (suicide) in tears and turmoil, they don’t really want to leave the house (suicide) for they believe that to be weak and they will then stand no chance of winning the prize (happiness) at the end of all the hard work and hard choices. So they sell themselves, their souls, for that prize. No-one really wins and yet it attracts millions of contestants every year all over the world. This whole scene is played alongside a sense of humour and fun music and fun ‘tasks’. On the outside these contestants are enjoying themselves because the music and the fun tells them that they should, and they are led to believe that this game (life) is a gift, just being in the big brother house is an honour. But they know that inside themselves they are in turmoil, they struggle constantly with that, but eventually become better and better at sealing it all with a smile and some lipstick and some gratitude for the wonderful experience they are having. They are told that showing the turmoil is not playing the game and that if they do, they will be voted out of the house (cast aside, friendless in the world, a loner, a depressive person to be around) and so even more they fake it because everyone needs friends and to be accepted. Big brother keeps telling them that they should go away and think about it before they chose to leave (suicide), he instils the fear in them that they are rejecting themselves and that they are giving up such a wonderful opportunity, and by leaving they are insulting big brother (the giver of this life) and they are insulting all the ones out there who would give anything for this opportunity, and they are insulting the other contestants in the house by suggesting that there is something wrong, which means there must be something wrong with them also (no-one wants to hear that). So the contestant digests this information that the wonderful and wise and generous big brother tells them and once again they feel grateful and apologise for even thinking about leaving. They return the house a new and more grateful person. Each and everytime, gradually drowning their own instinct that something is very wrong here. They may even visit the big brother doctor who can give them a pill to deal with that bad feeling. They try to make ‘real’ friendships in this house, but when it comes to nominations they are forced to kill off others, even their ‘friends’ to save their own skin. A lot of them cry when having to do this but they all believe they have no choice, that this is something that is literally a part of the process if they want to succeed. So no real friendships are made, no real happiness is attained.Â
During the stay at the big brother house (life) there are rules that must be lived by religiously. There are many, and if you break them you can face hunger and imprisonment, or isolation from the other housemates usually accompanied with something designed to make you go a bit cuckoo (such as constant playing of the same song). One of the biggest rule breaks is talking about nominations. The nominations is quite clearly designed as a ‘dog eat dog’ ‘save yourself at all costs, even if that means killing your own ‘friend’ ‘ method of control. The very rule of not talking about it is designed so that there is no revolt against this nasty, vicious and destructive action which they are all forced to do. Heaven forbid, if they talk about it they get the most severe punishments that big brother inflicts, the contestants very own fears. Big brother is clever, it watches the contestants and observes their own fears are and it uses them to control them. The result is that sometimes (insanely so) the contestants whisper and wink to each other in an almost deranged fashion. But big brother sees everything, he’s in control. The contestants know this and yet sometimes they still try to give out little messages in the deep hope that others respond to it and they all rise up against big brother. but no-one ever does, they are all too scared of being punished. Why can’t they see that if they all stood up and walked out or all refused to comply with the rules, big brother would cease to be? Could it be that they are brainwashed? If not, what else could it be?
Big brother is happy to answer questions involving life inside the house, but he never answers anything else.Â
Big brother takes away all means for the contestants to have any contact with the outside world as it would influence the contestants. The only contact the contestants are allowed is with each other and with big brother and all that belongs in the house. Climbing over the wall of the house is considered a crime and you are instantly greeted by friendly people that are employed by big brother to comfort you and persuade you back into the house, where it is safe. They talk ‘sense’ into you and once again you feel grateful. Again, if anyone breaks the rules or tries to talk to each other without big brother hearing, then they are segregated from the rest, or thought on as struggling and weak. Eventually the contestants forget how they felt when they first entered and they become hardened to life in the big brother house and even prosper. Prospering is good and is highly rewarded by big brother and your fellow contestants clap for you and look up to you, hey you may even win the whole show and become famous (enlightened/happy). But you can only prosper if you are ruthless and able to cast aside your emotions. That is playing the game well, and is rewarded. Those who do not become ruthless and emotionless are seen to be struggling, they are weak and soon they become a pest to the other contestants who are trying to make it. If all medication and counseling from big brother does not manage to ‘fix’ the struggling contestant, he may be granted permission to leave, but that is done quietly and without any celebration, the other contestants become sad (only for a second) as if someone has died. It is seen as a very sad thing that the weak person left the show. He is soon forgotten and the show goes on.
What’s even more hilarious in all this is that this show is being sent into the homes of everyone on this planet as entertainment. We are being fooled into believing that it is something outside of our world – a gameshow. If we were able to view our own personal world through a TV set, condensed into one hour per day, how many of us would be alarmed? If our conscious was portrayed as a sort of voice in a diary room, or the voice of our ‘god’, how similar would it look? Â But, oh no, wait up a minute, you’re kidding aren’t you? Â That’s absurd! Â Isn’t it??????????????

I love your post! The way that you used or compared the so called reality show, Big Brother, to get your point across. Great comparison! Even so, despite your observation, I’ve read some of the comments that you wrote to others and I would like to commend you. I can see that you have made in a difference in some of their lives. You truly are a darling heart.
I hope that you enjoy your day and that you are doing fine. Enjoy your day and be safe:) May peace be with you Pink404:) If you ever want to talk about anything…even really random things loll….i am here…contact me at angeloflight91@hotmail.com
Excellent 🙂
wow great post. i’ve never seen Big Brother because the name alone makes me shudder given that our societal/governmental “Big Brother” is a violent, sadistic prick, and therefore no brother of mine. your post just proved to me that i indeed do not want to watch this show. nor would i ever go on a reality show for my life to be consumed and spit out by the masses.
i like how you started your post – wondering if you’ve been depressed or enlightened. i can relate to that and i think that darkness and depression IS so-called enlightenment (in terms of seeing Truth as it is out there), except there’s no light in the latter, so i dunno why they call it that.
you know..it is posts & threads like this that really give so much enlightment, that perhaps otherwise we would be too ‘blindfolded’ to see it!
Your illustration of Big Brother is so eye-opening.
isn’t it sad of how so many human beings are ‘trapped’ inside their own “Rules”, or even worse, SOMEONE’s Rules?? while if only they would DARE to question, DARE to explore further, DARE to follow their inner-hearts/voice, they would probably see a whole NEW world ahead, ie: they have found the Truth, and that Truth will set them FREE! free from any f*cked-up man-made “rules” and all, and be truly *authentic* to themselves.
I also love that your illustration points out that basically human beings are GOOD essentially, just like what Splinter said in his empowering thread here: http://suicideproject.org/2010/08/lets-face-it-were-all-evil-in-some-way/ . it’s just FEARS that keep most of us (human beings) to see the ‘Essence’, the Truth!
many human beings are just so ‘blinded’ with all these materialisms & superficiality especially so present in nowadays era (blame the media & some influential ‘bad’ figures that have controlled the media to ‘brainwash’ us!), that we totally forgot that it’s all just cleverly man-made “rules” that we don’t necessarily need or have to adhere/follow!
We all have a CHOICE. We are FREE to do, connect, and even CREATE things (“Be the Change that we want to see” ~ Mahatma Gandhi).
A choice to walk out of the “House”, and live a new life, create a new thing. Find the REAL freedom, the real Truth.
wow .. this post deserves a 5/5
bump
You have done the impossible. I cannot believe you actually managed to watch this show long enough to form a coherent analysis of it. Please tell me your (in)sanity is still intact!
I know the original posting was two years past, but really, more people need to understand this kind of thing.
Beautiful, Pink. I’m glad these things stay archived. I would have missed this absolute gem. 🙂
