THE RULES:
1. when you feel like you want to cut, take a marker or pen and draw a butterfly on wherever the self-harm occurs.
2. name the butterfly after a loved one, or someone that really wants you to get better.
3. NO scrubbing the butterfly off.
4. if you cut before the butterfly is gone, it dies. if you don’t cut, it lives.
5. if you have more than one, cutting kills them all.
6. another person may draw them on you. these butterflies are extra special. take good care of them.
7. even if you don’t cut, feel free to draw a butterfly anyways, to show your support. if you do this, name it after someone you know that is suffering right now, and tell them. it could help.

I think crazypandachick also tried this. You two should be friends.
Ok, I will support you by drawing a butterfly on my arm. I just hope no one sees it otherwise I’m going to lose all my street cred.
Haha. Goodd! I’ve got two on right now.
Yeah but I don’t cut
I can’t draw a butterfly, am i allowed to do something else? Kitty kat? Meow?
I said I would draw one on, but it’s not because I cut.
You can draw whatever you want. 🙂
Do you do any other type of self harm or is it just for support?
Just for support. The kind of self harm that I do has already gone beyond recall.
What’s up with you anyway. I’ve seen you around here but not really read any of your posts.
This is your once in a lifetime opportunity to ask me things.
it can be just for support or for yourself as a self-help thing. honestly, you can probably draw anything, but the butterfly symbolizes true beauty and the strength to break free from your struggles. does that make any sense? anywho, butterflyprojects.wordpress.com is my website for the butterfly project. if you wanna visit it. it’s feeling rather lonesome these days…. :/
That’s sad, it’s a great idea. Duke, what do you mean what’s up with me? Read em’ then, ha.
I said crazypanda but I got her mixed up with ^
It is in fact Babypanda
That could take a while. Could we just talk about something instead
Whatya wanna talk about? You can E-mail me… Kathrrryn@yahoo.com
Kathryn that’s very kind of you but I didn’t want to talk about anything depressing. As long as you are ok, that’s all that counts.
Oh nothing, just in general.
Not to be a downer but the last time I tried it, some kids at school saw it and knew what it meant. Rather than ignore it, they spread it around like wildfire. And like that, I was once again THE emo chick of the school who was going to kill herself. :/
So I tend to not do the butterfly project…
Maybe try putting one where no one else will see it?
