A suicidal man was encouraged to leap off a four-storey building by a baying mob who filmed the incident and posted it on YouTube.
The crowd – including a mother with small children – shouted ‘Jump’ at the 26-year-old as police tried to reason with him.
After a two-hour stand-off, the man plunged 50ft off the roof of a bridal shop and suffered critical injuries. Last night he was fighting for his life in hospital.

Is it on youtube.? I will take a look.
I haven’t looked yet,but they might have taken it off.I dunno. But,it’s sad that people
couldn’t give a sh1t and eggin u on to jump. One man said hurry up I’ll miss my job centre appointment
I heard this is actually an extremely common occurance. Rescue proffesionals are taught to block the area off of bystanders because very often they goad the contemplator to jump.
This is truly a sad story.
It takes a lot to get tears running from my eyes, and this almost did it.
The fact that a mum was there with her 2 small kids is what makes me so discusted. I mean, the whole blood thing is discusting, but a mum? Really?
This is really pathetic. People are disgusting.
My God, this is truly horrible. It shows the absolute worst that people are capable of. The youth of the guy who jumped makes it even worse for me. Hopefully he may recover from his critical injuries, but the injury to the mind, heart and soul is harder to heal…I hope lessons of some sort can be learned. Such as the necessity to bring into the open the taboo topic of suicide, discuss it openly and educate children and young people about it. It’s a terrible indictment of our society (I live in the UK) that such a thing could happen. Zoe x
it’s sad, but it doesn’t surprise me one single bit.
Mental note … 50ft. not high enough
Seriously, human behavior is hideous at times – we’ve learned and become desensitized to “real” life and real people. The crowds that gather actually become enraged that this “person” has the gall to interrupt and inconvenience their busy day so they goad him into jumping so they may get on with their mundane task that they value so much more that the life of another – “how DARE he interrupt my shopping trip!”
Then there’s the whole – “entertainment” of it … i remember people actually asking and trying to find videos of people jumping from the twin towers on 9/11 – with titillating excitement – it’s repugnant. and it has a lot to do with what’s wrong with our society.
if you choose to “go” do so on your own terms without becoming someone else’s entertainment
private dawg
I am not a fan of the human race. You can expect this an much worse. I hope he doesn’t survive it. I can only imagine all the injuries and probable brain damage he has suffered from the jump and I wouldn’t want him to suffer even more than he was before he decided to jump.
Horrible people!!!!!!!!
never less than ten stories- Unless you want the hospital.
