I like to live the golden rule. But almost in reverse. I always react to others in accordance to what do to them.
I write very long posts sometimes. I read any post that I think I can comment on regardless of length.
Do you mean long original posts, EvanMcHale? For me personally, it’s not about how long the OP is but whether or not they bothered to use paragraphs. I’m actually glad you brought this up because many people will ignore something if it takes an incredible amount of work to read.
There’s a reason magazines, books, and just about every other written form is crafted in a way that doesn’t strain your eyes or make every sentence feel like it’s all one big thought. If people put a little care into crafting their OP, there’s a lot higher chance someone will bother to read it.
You don’t have to have a degree in English; even if you have no idea where to make proper breaks in paragraphs, it’s good to do so every 5-6 sentences. I just wing it.
