I’m going to kill myself, because I’ve realized that if I do, the money used on me can be used to save many other people’s lives. That’s all. Is this crazy?
Not crazy. I think psychologists call it “altruistic suicide”. Example: the guy who killed himself at the hospital so his organs could be used to save others. To me it’s more logical than living for no purpose. Die for one.
yes, it is crazy in my opinion. because people have already invested money on you and you are just throwing it away. you’d be a lot more use if you stuck around and helped others in any way you can. if you just help one person, you have done well because that one person can help dozens more.
yes it is , u shouldn’t kill yourself for that , theres other ways to help people , and not just trough money , money cant buy happiness , that’s my opinion .
-Yes because you’re life is more precious than money. If a billion dollars is what it takes to keep you alive, then so be it. You can earn money. This isn’t a video game. You don’t get 3 lives. Once you’re gone, you’re gone. Oh, and your death will cost, too due to the funeral expenses. I don’t know your medical history or anything, but if you’re perfectly healthy then there’s people out there who are wishing they had your life so live your life to the fullest if not for yourself, but for those who can’t live their life to the fullest, for those stuck up in hospital beds and may never get out.
-No because if you’re gonna kill yourself, have a purpose to do so. But think of your family and friends. Imagine how they would feel. They might blame themselves because they think they could have done something to save you.
Suicide has been an honorable option throughout history. Doing it for the right reasons doesn’t mandate approval but it shouldn’t provoke condemnation, either.
Our society can’t handle death. We’re in denial until we find ourselves faced with some terrible fate, like ending up on a ventilator and unable to persuade the hospital staff to unplug it. When looking down the road and seeing yourself headed toward such a fate, there’s nothing wrong with making arrangements for a more humane death.
I’m new here but I already get the impression half the ppl here tell their sad stories in the hope of getting sympathy and strokes. The other half are do-gooders who feel gratified when they think they’ve talked somebody out of it. The irony is, somebody with their mind made up isn’t going to be spending a lot of time on this board looking for hugs.

@fatso: I hope you will continue posting and perhaps provide more context (/further details) so people on here can hopefully offer perspective/advice/support; otherwise, best of luck…
The reason I originally asked if this was crazy is that I have cronic lymes disease with a mold co-infection, and it affects my brain pretty badly. I’m currently getting treatment for it, and in theory it would start to get better reasonably soon, if I weren’t going to die. I just recently came to the conclusion that I am obligated to commit suicide in order to save others (via donating my money and any that would be used on me to highly effective charities). I just wanted to make sure that this wasn’t some instance of my mind playing tricks on me, and since it seems other people agree with me to some extant, I guess I’m ok. Now all I need is a viable method.

The problem with that is that, in my current state, I really can’t help anyone. Plus the ammount of money used to keep my alive is rather large.
Yes and no.
