Yesterday,I threw away my blades. Today I told my best friend that I was cutting and now she doesn’t want to talk to me anymore. I don’t know what to do.
1. Keep up not cutting.
2. Give your friend some time…sometimes people need to think things through and sometimes that time.
3. Find someone you trust and try to get help. Not only do you have deal with the cutting, but also WHY you are doing it.
4. Use this as a wake up call to learn to handle your problems better. What do you have to lose?
I know this sounds silly coming from someone on a suicide site, but I’ve always believed this “Problems are just opportunities in work clothes.”
You haven’t told your age, but it seems both, you and your friend are young.
If she is young, she is not prepared for such things. You totally shock her, because she can’t possibly understand the psychological problems around it. Even myself, not young, I was shocked when I first heard about it, but after reading and learning I know why people are doing it, yet it still strikes me.
So, what you have to do is treat each person differently. If they are young, don’t throw them tough problems. This is something you ought to talk with a shrink.
And yes, well done throwing the blades away that is the most urgent thing to do, but now start preparing to talk the matter with a specialist, so that he or she can help you.
