As we diligently work hard to better our future there always seems to be an outside force working against.
The hunger to achieve success seems insatiable.
And the question is: what is success?
Is it the satisfaction of knowing you have done all that you can do?
Is it knowing you have done all the right things and can hold you head up high?
Is it acheiving a six figure salary? or just making a salary.
Is it giving and receiving love?
or is it simply just being happy no matter the circumstance?
Whatever it maybe for other people success for me would simply be: having the ability to do what i like to do. having the freedom to create, and evolve.
Being happy despite the circumstances of life.
and just being able to wake up everyday and provide for the people i care about.
i would like to here what other people think success is.

I don’t know I think to me it’s being happy but then again I’m not sure
I think you pretty much got the right idea. Different people have different standards as to how much they want to achieve in their life. Someone can be totally happy working as a amusement park worker because they’re passionate about bringing joy to people. Or someone can feel like they’ve succeeded after becoming a lead singer for a band. Or someone can take time out of their lives to help those in need who are less fortunate(which would mean that they’re not taking time out of their lives because they want to do that). Success has no limits. So I think you’re absolutely correct. You want to provide for the people you care about so that’s your form of success. And it’s a cool one.
Success ,to me would be a persons perception of what suffices the need to survive. What we are willing to accept as our optimum survival. Some people can’t be successful unless they make a mountain of money, while others perceive success is the absence of economic structure. Some want to change the world..while others just want to get out of mom and dads house.
In my life..I’m not looked at as successful at all.
But I have everything I need: my home, my job, my family, my wife, my strength and confidence, and air in my lungs…among other things I perceive as a successful life. No need for lots of money or fancy possessions or nice cars. No need for children or lots of friends. And the one thing that makes me the most successful in my life is the fact that I will never give up on it. Simply said.
I really like what you’ve put in this post. Makes me appreciate life even more so. 🙂 I hope you can find your own success.
Haha I live by this bs. I hope when we die we have a stats screen and filling mine up with random and unique things is success. Eg I do poi, beatbox, can do footie skills, im going to Tibet to live with monks then Australia to dive, learn japanese. Doesnt involve money or love just things that I enjoy ( maybe love then.) also how many people I help in day to day life is how I measure how successful a days been. 🙂
As you have already mentioned in your post that the meaning of Success differs from person to person. In my point of view “Success is to achieve the goals you have set for yourself. To be the person you want to be.”
If someone had set his mind on accumulating a lot of money and he actually gained it then it is success for him and on the other hand if i have set my mind on gaining peace whatever may be the physical loss, if by the end of the time, i managed to get that peace I am successful. It doesn’t matter what will be the opinion of the society or other people but in my mind i will feel successful.
