Like the title says thats me today. Been having a few bad days isolated alone inside in this heat in a new city where I don’t know anyone and moved for a real estate deal that went south. Now I am unemployed after years of doing horribly as a self employed professional. I don’t think I could get a job at McDonald’s right now.
Went out and did some errands, paid some bills picked up some lunch. Was feeling okay while doing these things but now i am back watching youtube videos of alternative media ( extremely depressing) and ofcourse am here reading about others feeling suicidal right now.
Can one check oneself into a psychiatric facility when feeling this way for a few days to get support? Does health insurance cover it? Will it make life harder with huge medical bills again? Anyone know?

Doctors don’t care, can’t help, nor do their drugs.

Yes you can voluntarily admit yourself. Be careful if you prove to be in danger of possiblt harming yourself or others they will keep you longer till they can get a better diagnosis and proper treatment plan. If you have decent health insurance it should cover everything. Sometimes they dont cover the admittance fee which can be about…500 dollars i think? Yeah about that id say. Overall medical inaurance covers 90%.
If you’re in california don’t let them try to put you under a 5150 since you are a volunteer and not being held against your will. If you admit yourself pay attention to what you are handed and asked to sign.

For once im quite displeased with one of your comments, but you have the right toyoyr opinion. I think that a lot of doctors don’t take the hypocratic oath seriously, but there are those who do. They can help but they aren’t magic and can’t always fix it. In all honesty we have to fix ourselves. Meds aren’t for everyone but they do help others.
Best not to eliminate options so quickly. They could save your life especially in our line of work where we can lose a limb or worse.
You can check yourself in… its the leaving where things become sketchy. If they deem you are a harm to yourself or others they can keep you involuntarily. As for health insurance coverage they are all different so you have to speak with your provider. I don’t know about the med bills either .. Im sorry I don’t know know more but my goal has always been to stay the fuck away from those places.
I don’t need pills to hide my eyes from the world and tell me life is great…I have a mother for that. Lol …but all jokes aside, I’d rather suffer through life than drown in the opinions of paid professionals and their barbiturates. For the record the other posters have never been to a psych ward. Ive been to osych wards as a teen and as an adult. Been to horrible hospitals where they treated us like monsters and good hospitals where they actually helped us as much as they could while making us feel less like sick fucks and more like plain jane, ect. You honestl can’t base your choice on all our commenta, just listen, form your own conclusion and make a choice. Psych wards remind me of customer service. Sometimes you get a nice helpful person an sometimes you get fuck face idiot who is rude and won’t do shit. Catch my drift? If not we can teach you how to drift need for speed style~ Aha sorry lame dumb joke.

I have been to a psych ward many times. I met some really cool people as well as some unfavorable. Doctors weren’t able to help me and I’m on an anti depressant right now taht’s not really helping but be careful what form they put you on like AtTheEnd was saying. In Canada it is similar. When you’re voluntary you can leave at any time but if they deem you a risk to others or yourself they will keep you in there like a jail. LOL @AtTheEnd “fuck face idiot” hahaha. Alright. It is a toss up. Depends who you get and what hospital you go to. Some are definitely better than others so ultimately it is your choice. I did get a couple fuck face idiots though.

Thanks killswitchon!! It is a toss up. I was relased from one psych ward only to be thrown into a group home after the doctors told my mom it’d be best for me to live away from them. I dont like people, not even my family, but they are bearable most days…that group home was like prison…checked my mouth when they gave me meds…one hiur rec time rest of the day home school and chores, no therapy, no visits from even your family until you played their ranking game and gained privelages…needless to say i lost it there and ended up at another psych ward…a bad one LOL met some horrible nurses and some horrible patients and some good patients.

That wiccan girl….she was pretty and hot. Haha but she was more fun to talk to. She was my friend in the ICU for psych patients (max security) the they sent me to another ward in the same hospital but lesser security. And that was the end of that.

@attheend @realtalk30 my last hospital stay i met this girl the first day there. she was cool but also very creepy. red head. deep blue eyes and she’d stare into my soul. she was convinced we were soul mates or something LOL she said she had a bf and at one point we were going to do stuff but i just felt weird about this girl yknow. ya meet some fruitloops in the hospital for sure ahaha. She was nice tho. good thing her and I didnt hook up cuz her bf visited her a couple days later there. would’ve been a mess *facepalm*

well thanks for the opinions guys. Sounds like a psych ward isn’t the place for me. Would rather be miserable and/or have control of my life. Not sure wtf I am going to do with my life though. I guess it helps knowing other people are feeling really alone and sad too.

No they realized I wasn’t going to hold a guard hostage or streak through the mens side like other patients so I was put in medium security and um. Almost got attacked by a musclebound white idiot because he kept hitting on the women his age ( I was the only little 18 year old haha) needless to say I became friends with people and they didn’t want that guy bothering so I somehow became a shield O-o luckily i got saved and the guy apologized the next day…crazy S.O.B. i would not have been able to take him on XD
And no actually they discovered I was a cuddly teddy bear after my second hospital whne they sent me to a day program. There i made friends with everyone but mostly with two girls and one decided i was a cuddly teddy bear, needless to say I’m loveable in person ._.

I knew a red head o: she was cool super shy bad ass punk rock but also liked One Direction =.=….anyway yeah all those friends didn’t stay my friends for long…oh well c: One girl did scare me cuz she propose a scenario where we were married and she brought up sex and said i didnt have to keep that marriage tradition or something and i was like….UM O-o girl gtfo! The worst part was when a 12 year old had a crush on me…..e.o she kept saying she wasnt but we all knew she was hahaha weird kids yo!!!

There are such things at your medical providers centers or if they dont have centers then they probably cover some at other centers. ALSO there are free ones, places to talk and share. One hour usually. Kinda like AA

That place is the epitome of weird. thats what this girl was like! cool but super shy. except with me. it got weird suffice it to say. hospital visits are all accompanied by the weirdest fuckin stories. i remember this one guy was so delusional he was telling me the nursing staff were poisoning him thru the purell bottles on the walls. i said that i noticed they were doing and to be careful of them!!! ahahaha. just fuckin with him. poor guy. then he wanted to by my necklace. odd.
most recent hospital stay there was this guy convinced he was the savior of the world or something. full on loopy. like loony tunes loopy. i loved getting him talking aobut it tho. really entertaining cuz i would encourage him yknow.

One chick looked homeless and nasty and smelled x.x but she was like a blue eyed blonde what normal guys want in a girl. She said um she was related to obama and other famous people and that they were gonna bail her out. Crazy….some other femsle had fights and attacked guards..
ahahaha as if she said that. yeah this guy said he knew important people too. he would say the wackest shit. like related to the queen and i think may have said something about obama too. crazy. there was this one girl that was a stripper who was on the run I believe. she had shaved her head to not be recognized. she was cool. at least thats the story she told us…
