I know this is a stupid and trivial thing to be thinking about but since I have a while til I can “go”, I’m thinking about near everything. I know I’m going to write notes. I’m between a couple methods. But Facebook…deactivate my page or leave it be? I don’t want to have a creepy presence where I have an online presence even though I don’t have a real life one. I know some people who committed suicide and their’s was used as a memorial thing where loved ones wrote nice messages. Although that’s a nice idea, I’d feel odd writing to someone who’s not there anymore on a public forum. I’m pretty sure I’ll be taking mine down months before I do it.

I will leave mine alone. If I take it down, people will wonder why.
I got rid of mines a long time ago….I don’t want a shrine dedicated to my memory….I want to be completely forgotten.
Hm, both of your reasonings make sense. Guess I just have to think on what I want.
I have deleted mine a few times but if you use any app that uses facebook it will reactivate your account. Also it doesn’t matter. If you want to give everyone a convenient outlet to pretend that they cared about you then leave it. It won’t matter if you are dead. If not delete it. Some of the ones who may have actually cared about you might show up to your gravesite if you have one. Otherwise delete all trace of yourself and have your ash cast into the wind.
I would also delete it.
If you keep it as a memorial, the people that once upon a time treated you like dirt don’t feel guilty as they will leave a heartfelt message.
Fact is: they had nothing nice to say in life. But to mask their guilt, they feel compelled to write something.
Then when the investigation in to your death begins, the news will report it as ‘a popular, beautiful male/female committed suicide today, nobody knows why, good grades, lots of friends and a pretty face’
The bullies, the abusers get away with murder.
But that’s just my opinion.
