today as i was walking home with my friends daughter ( whom I live with) from school, we were walking behind a little boy (about 8 or 9 years old). he looked down a path and started walking faster. not even 10 seconds later, 3 boys about the same age walked out of the path and started taunting this poor little boy. calling him a “*****” (mind you, these are CHILDREN using such profanity) a “retatd” and so on.
now, hearing these names come from the mouths of children set off a flashback (i was teased and tormented in elementary school right thru to high school by the same people who couldnt seem to grow the hell up and called me the same names in grade 10 as they did in grade 3). i got kind of upset and had mentioned to the bullies that I had a 4 year old with me and that those words were not appropriate to use around small children.
i then caught up to the little boy that was bwing bullied and had told him that it wasnt his fault, they didnt like themselves and that they had to make fun of someone to make themselves feel better.
that little smile and him saying thank you actually made my entire week. i know its nothing but it was something to make my heart smile for the first time in a long time

What you did is a lot more than ‘nothing.’ Those of us who have experienced pain in one way or another have a gift of understanding. You shared that gift with that little boy and made a difference in his life for the positive. No act of kindness is ‘nothing.’
Please continue to find those moments to be of service to others who need your caring, understanding and love. It’s the greatest that you can do for this world!
Thank you so much for sharing.
Nice.
