Why are parents so happy at the birth of a newborn?
They didn’t bring a child into a loving good caring wonderful world….they basically sentenced a new innocent being to a life of strife and turmoil and ultimately a death sentence….and sure some will say “but not everybody life is bad” I never said it was….but this world is bad….and somewhere along the line it will reveal itself to be bad to them…. if I had a child I would feel so guilty….I know this life is shit….I know this world is shit….so why would I willingly bring another person into it to be subjected to this?

I’ve heard that the only way out of this perpetual birth and death cycle (rebirth) is through living a human life where you follow a path (to self-realization/nirvana/samadhi/whatever-you-want-to-call-it). The urge to procreate is a natural or instinctive urge that keeps the world going. Otherwise life would have been over with the death of the first beings on this planet. However we decorate this basic instinct as our act of will to bring a child to earth. Actually the parents have no choice, it comes from their unconscious. So you cannot hold them responsible for bringing a child into this world. As for the question of the world being a bad place, hmmm…there are some theories about that too but I’ll keep it short by saying that the degradation – eventual anihilation – new life on earth is another cycle that happens in a time scale of thousands of years.
I know I will get a lot of hate mails for saying this in this forum, yet I will say it in the hope that atleast some people might see the meaning: Even the worst of experiences has something to teach if we can stay conscious and not react to the situation, if you can observe yourself as if you were a third person. But that easier said than done. However one truth that we notice again and again in life is: ‘This too shall pass’
Well really….I agree with you on “this too shall pass”….I mean nobody is immortal….but for the time being….who wants to exist on this rock of bullshit?….I surely don’t….and it seems quite impossible to not react to anything like a robot….emotions are the very thing that make us react to various events the way we do….you can’t just turn them off….even though I am apathetic a lot of the time ….I didn’t choose to become that….it just followed my depression over the time….However I disagree….not EVERYTHING we experience has some hidden lesson to teach us….I mean lets just call it what it is….some shit is just meaningless fucked up shit….
You can blame parents for having a child in this day and age….because there are too many ways to prevent becoming pregnant….too many ways….nobody anywhere ever made an “unconscious” choice to have sex without a condom….they did so willingly and knowingly knowing the risks of having a child….it is an instinct to mate I agree but it is NOT an instinct to have irresponsible intercourse that produces an unwanted child….lets be honest….maybe 5-10% of parents actually plan to have a kid….most of them just wanted to fuck and the baby was a byproduct
PainNlife, I’m 100% with you on this one.
I know look at the babies face when its born. Contorted, red, screaming and crying. And then look to the parents smiling, kissing, hugging. It just goes to show the parents are happy for themselves. Anyone can see the child is in enormous distress and unhappiness. And that is just the first seconds of life. Some have decent lives but others have been cast alive into hell.
Yeah I can’t imagine wanting to bring a life into this world. Welcome to Earth, you’ll be locked in school til you’re 18 so you can try to learn enough so that when you get out you can start working 40+ hours a week and try to make enough to live and continue the cycle by saving money to put your kids through school. What’s the point.
Amen to that
Bringing a child into this world is a cold and inconsiderate act of cruelty.
There’s more than enough suffering here already, why add to it?
I think its crazy that most people don’t think like like you PainNlife
I find it crazy that most people don’t think period….many people just do things because they are the accepted “norm”…..shit like circumcision….a completely pointless and sometimes harmful procedure that removes some sexual feeling from the penis yet it is done to male babies because it is the norm….they say it “lowers the risk of HIV transmission” but so does not having sex with a person infected with HIV….but it doesn’t matter because its “not normal” to be uncircumcised…but I digress….my point was people just don’t think about shit they just do whatever is the “norm”
Being born in America is bad enough, just imagine being born in a third world country and having like 10 siblings and your parents cant provide for you,now that’s hell
@Bigrich: man that shit pisses me off….when you see those commercials with people will 10-12 kids in the same house talking about “poor ___ and his brothers and sisters are starving”…..like you evil son of a ***** you couldn’t even feed yourself yet you had all these fucking kids and expect some stranger from across the globe to donate money to feed them!?….I’m sorry and this may be offensive but having kids is not for the poor and they should be prevented from having children….children should not suffer because you didn’t have enough common sense to have some financial stability prior to having them… if you don’t have at least 20-50K saved specifically to be used on a child then you don’t need one…..why is it that you can’t get a good car on credit if your credit score sucks but you can bring a new life into this world with poor financial records….last time I checked raising a human is more expensive than a car
Not always that parents are confused but just unaware. People have babies when they are still so young, 23 years old, 26 maybe, and really many people have not experienced lifes tragedies and horrors at so young of an age. Of course all the men came back from WWII and the nightmare that was, and started making babies. I guess people might know how bad life is but when it comes to making babies they put the nasty stuff out of mind. It’s the vision they’re trying to grasp, most people are convinced that life will work out for them and their family even if it hasn’t worked for anybody else. I get very irritated by the commercials and tv shows showing happy healthy families. You don’t see a disfigured infant on a gerber commercial, or a brain dead teenager on a sitcom. You push things like the Inquisition out of your mind, you never envision that infant you just gave birth to might one day have its fingernails ripped out by someone in authority. You say to yourself “the holocaust can never happen again” although any reasonable person knows its just a matter of time before some new group is persecuted. You push the slaughtered factory farm animals out of mind. You don’t envision that little angel youre carrying in your belly is the next Jeffrey Dahmer. And so on it goes. It’s blindness and denial. Life is nothing but a trap. Illusions of safety and hapiness, until you are trapped inside.
