My parents are always ranting that ‘The gays are ruining our world, and the bisexuals are freaks that are to confused to do anything right, they have no clear grasps of reality because they can’t even stay in one gender. They all deserve to be locked away.’
They don’t know that I’m bisexual and I can’t even look them in the eyes anymore because I’m a dissapointmet to them, I’m just a freak.

If she is open-minded it has nothing to do with her sexual orientation. Its just who she is….The best defense against people like them is a great offense….If they are bible thumpers and that is what they are using as the basis for their remarks….make sure they are following EVERY rule in the book….I could name a few that they are probably breaking…but I can almost guarantee that no christian follows that book as much as they use it to attack others…..but anyways fuck them….realize they are bigoted and nothing you can say will make them somehow change their views….some causes are just lost causes….
Last time I checked….it wasn’t gays bringing more life into this world to suffer needlessly….and I don’t recall any major warmonger being gay…….I bet if you line up all histories worst murders and evil people….I bet very few of them were gay…where you stick your penis or rub your cat doesn’t reflect on your morals as a human….

I half agree with you. Some people are gay or bi for their whole life. Personally I wasn’t. I made the choice to be open to it in my adult years. If that’s her case then I’d say she is open minded. (not trying to make this about me)
@Questionable: ….I am saying that her open mind didn’t come from her sexuality….neither did yours….your open minded trait is not dependent on your sexuality that’s all I am saying…I am a straight male but that doesn’t make me close minded that’s just who I am….it is not dependent on my sexual preference….

I still can’t believe how far behind our world is. I’m not even American and I know that all this homophobia is unconstitutional. It’s the 21st century!! Personally, I do not know what sexual orientation I am because I am only just a teenager, but I am fine with whatever I turn out to be. I’m sorry that your parents have such narrow-minded ideas about society and people. If you are a child, like myself, remember that you can move out in a couple of years and be free of them. If you are an adult, move out! Remember that you can always come onto this site for help. There’s always support out there somewhere.

Again, a situation where counseling from a qualified, non-judgmental individual could be very helpful. Obviously, you don’t want to simply “kick the beehive” just to piss them off. Just as obviously, you want to be true to yourself and candid with your parents. Somehow, your own feelings toward your parents must also be preserved, if possible.
This is a delicate situation, because of the threatened loss of respect and caring between you. It may well not always go smoothly, though a good many are able to salvage the love between them that underlies all other feelings between you. Look for ways for this to happen in your family, despite everything. Good luck.
