You would never guess the real me if you saw me walking down the hallway or in public. You would never guess the type of life I lead behind the wall of my room.
You would think I am a happy girl who has good grades and plays sports like no ones business. If you asked my best friend who I am. They would tell you a lie. Because he doesn’t even know the real me.
I don’t even know who I am. Is that even possible? To not know the mind in your own head?
It makes me crazy just thinking about it. I’m Hailey, that’s all I can tell you. I’m no more than another meaningless human in the universe. That’s all we all are. If you think just because you have money or your famous, that you matter. Your wrong. From the words of watsky… ” there is 7 billion 46 million people on this planet and most of us have the audacity to think we matter” I’m just glad he said it before I had to.
So I have a question for you. Who are you? I’m nobody. Are you nobody too?

Depends on your definition of “matter.” I see both sides of the argument. We all matter, to some degree, but we’re all also completely irrelevant, because this is all temporary. In 100 years, no one will know i existed. Some people’s legacies last much longer, millennia or more… but we’re all forgotten eventually.
Still, each of us do matter, whether anyone knows it or not, to everyone whose paths cross anything we’ve influenced in any way. Even though that doesn’t really matter “in the end,” it does matter during the experience of existing. That’s why you can’t really correctly state that “nothing matters.” If nothing mattered, no one would ever be displeased with their circumstances. “Matter” doesn’t have to be forever permanent to have value. In fact, there is a pretty strong argument in favor of rarity and temporariness, contributing to the increase of the value of anything.
If something is less available, or only available for a limited time… life, for example… then we only have but a short, limited time, in which to act, and only so much time, energy, and influence, to exert upon our environments and our selves, to cause ourselves to have the best possible temporary experience. In this way, literally everything matters… but to varying degrees.
So, who am i?
I am me… whether or not anyone truly knows “me,” or thinks i’m important.
I am me, no matter what i think or say or do, regardless of whether anyone approves; we all are.
I’m glad other people know Watsky. He’s a brilliant, talented, motivated, inspiring individual.
