Any one here!! Who knows Arthur Schopenhauer
Parents often report statistically significantly lower levels of happiness, life satisfaction, marital satisfaction, and mental well-being compared with non-parents
Does parents feel they are the reason behind every kid suffering on this planet? If they din’t give birth there won’t be all this mess
isn’t it a cycle, parents suffer because of kids, kids suffer because parents gave em birth?
How to break?

The human species will reproduce just as all other creatures do.
We are wired for it.
Unhappiness comes about from a long list of reasons.
No, it won’t end.
Do you have children? I would want to read these studies before hazarding much of a hypothesis, but using personal experience and anecdotal ‘evidence,’ it is summed in one syllable: Stress. Suddenly you are responsible for not just your own life, but for the complete care of another. They NEED you. They need you in a way you could not have possibly experienced before. For a conscientious parent, one desperately trying not to neglect or damage his children, this creates a whole new breed of worries to deal with and concerns to field. Your whole perception shifts. You see a movie about a child abducted from a park, and suddenly you are the biggest anti tree person on the planet. No more shaded areas for your kids! You hang up no “park”ing signs, cancel the playground with Timmy, and start eyeing the trree in the yard with chainsaws in your eyes least there is a kid loving psycho path hugging it on the other side. You constantly worry about their safety, if their belly is full witb the food that WONT give them cancer, if they are squinty to look cool or bc they need glasses, are their friends no gooders who will lead them to a life of jacking cars and carring jacks in a getaway from a bank robbery…
Not to mention the buggers themselves are stressors. At first stages they cry when they not only need something but even if they just kind of want something. And you dilligently amswer the call bc you dont know which, but either way you are there because you love them so much. Then they get older but never really grow out of crying just upgrade to whinning/complaining. If you are lucky. And would you are worrying over paying the bills that they contribute to, you will miss them at work, but be bothered by there mere neediness for your attention bc you would like a moment of alone time PLEASE. And I swear….there will come dark moments…when even childrens laughter fills you with murderous rage and evil thoughts of modified electric bark collars…..it is stressful. But it is worth it. I believe most parents will also show a sense of purpose and fulfillment they did not have before. Children are not for everyone. Yet media has convinced everyone shoukd have one. Only people who feel a burning need to have one should. Bc it is work. But worth it.
It wasn’t “media” that convinced everyone they should reproduce. lol.
People have been socially convinced to reproduce for as long as humans have had anything resembling society. And before that, it was just natural instinct. And then there was religion that went around telling people they’d go to hell for not completing unobstructed intercourse “the way god intended.”
Most parents aren’t smart enough or responsible enough to accept responsibility for causing a being to come into existence for the sole purpose of experiencing a lifetime of inevitable suffering, without recourse or opportunity for any of what life is good for.
IMO, if you’re not rich, you shouldn’t have kids. There are already an unbelievable number of kids whose lives will be utterly wasted and miserable, just because their parents were fucking stupid, just like so much of the rest of the world.
u r true!! Is there any standardization of this perspective, eligibility test for reproduction.
IMO, there should be something like this because every human species that enter into this world should be carefully chosen based on guardian (parents in this case) .
Since we introduced morals, ethics, social behavior.. and failed on this. Some of other human beings are also the one of reason behind poor kids one earth and their suffering because we failed to introducing this standardization.
Media is how people “socially convince” nowadays. They are not solely to blame for everyones urge. That is of course ludicrous. But the house, picket fence, two car garage, 2.5 healthy kids etc etc etc.
Perpetuated in sitcoms adverts blahddy blahddy blah Everyone knows the song and dance
Yeah, but people created “the media.” How did we exist before then? How did humans reproduce for millions of years (or at the very least, ~100k), prior to creating “the media?”
Media is a new thing in the grand scheme. People were always naturally inclined toward reproduction. That’s how we’re still here, and how we have so many of us alive at once by now. Sure, media and all the social programming is relevant and does take it many steps further… but it would happen even without media. It’s basically our prime directive.
I can sit here and claim that “i’m choosing not to,” but the real reason is that no one wants another little me running around in this world… but because of what i’ve seen of this world, i can’t help but agree; i would feel terrible about bringing a new life into this disgusting world full of stupid, foul, vile savages.
But i would totally do it anyway, because i’m human. Yet another reason i hate humanity, and don’t think we should continue to reproduce.
Naturally Clever. I think the idea that “people like sex” and “life wants to reproduce to keep being itseld” goes without saying :-).
@adicted:
I think… it was one of those things where the problem rapidly escalated before anyone could figure out the right solution, or how to implemented without causing too much disruption.
It’s a complicated issue, and i don’t think it would be right for any gov’t to go around taking people’s kids, or forcibly sterilizing anyone if they have kids without permission. So i don’t know what to do about it, except teach people to think more and better about the potential extent of their actions, and teach them to understand the value and cost of suffering, so that they will naturally want to refrain from causing it unnecessarily.
Teach them the right things, watch them make the right choices. That’s pretty much how it works, despite the exceptions.
I try to explain this ideology to few human beings I guess they hardly understand it.
Am getting questions like
1. Some of great people are untrained homeless poor kids
2. If you unaware that you are living bad human life or you are suffering, does it effects?
3. why should one think on all these; just get busy get life
4. Human life is like this ” more you stir more it st*nks, so let it going
5. philosophy is already dead(Stephen hawking), just work on computer, programming, technology..some other shit
after all these questions I curse myself why I born with philosophical thought process?
implement it*
I am a child (no children) all I can do is forgive them and , maybe, in time forgive myself:-/
Even as i find it difficult to read your writing, i understand what you’re saying, and i pretty much agree. I have encountered similar responses when discussing complex problems with people. I’m not sure what to do about those “excuses” typical people like to make. I think it amounts to “we don’t have good enough answers for those questions, and don’t know how to find them, so let’s think about something else, or better yet, not even think at all, and just do life.”
It’s sad that so many people can’t find the answers and then give up. I guess it’s worse when they give up before even trying to find the answers.
People need to stop making children. It’s that simple. It really is that fucking simple to end this nightmare. There’s no way anyone can take a real look at this world and realistically imagine that some new life would like to come here.
