There are societal norms and expectations. I’m NOT saying they’re right or wrong… just saying that they exist. When people come along who don’t ‘meet’ society’s norms, they are often outcast or treated badly. This has been going on for ages and, sadly, will probably continue to happen.

Do whatever you can do to be yourself. If somebody doesn’t like it, and what you’re doing is lawful, then it’s simply not your problem… It’s theirs. Whether they like it or not, life goes on.
