I was on field exercise this one time, spent almost a week out there in the snow, mud and fecking rain. Between Recon patrols, ambushes and the sporadic machine gun fire in the night, I think I managed at least 6 hours sleep proper for the duration of the ex. Of course I got some shut eye, but I couldn’t exactly switch off, lest we get overrun and I get charged for avoidance of duty. I loved it though, being on a constant state of alert, cradling my rifle like a nutcase.
Which is why I hate the fact I get so much sleep these days. As in four hours a night or something like that. So yeah, I get what you mean Kallian. My best advice would be to just sit down and close your eyes from time to time; one minute’s shut eye could make all the difference in the world.
