Well alcohol is there and many people use it to lessen the pain they feel or to forget But the problem is that it can bring other problems into your life.

For me believing in Jesus gives me strength and forgiveness and also guidelines to follow that keep me out of trouble.
Open up a Bible and Read the book of Mathew. You might find some peace and the guidance you need there.
