Cast out, like yesterday’s trash
There’s no hope left, for you to grasp
Living this life, full of contempt
The powers that be, labeled you exempt
Your body, ready to collapse
There’s no time now, for you to relax
The world left you cold and rejected
Your soul cast away and neglected,
And they all denied,
The things you felt inside
Now’s your chance, to wake them up
It’s your turn now, to fill the cup
All eyes on you, as you race for the exit
The pain inside constantly resurrected
Let them know your pain, let them hear your voice
The emptiness, that left you no choice
Scream it out now, at the top of your lungs
The strings of your heart, slowly coming undone
How long, do you have to pay for your mistakes?
The cost is more, than your conscience can take
Left alone, to carry this weight,
It won’t be long, before you break
The light outside, can’t reach your soul
The effects of this life, now taking their toll
The heart you carry, an ever growing weight
Dragging you under, crimson waves of hate
The world consumed you and spit you out
Leaving you filled, with fear and doubt
The words hanging like a noose from their mouth
They’ll string you up with the things that they shout
How could it be, that this is fair?
How could anyone, ever care?
They never bothered to understand you
All they did, was bend and break you
Your heart filled with sadness and hate
You rip it out and put it up on display
Scream it out now, at the top of your lungs
The strings of your heart, slowly coming undone
How long, will you have to pay for your mistakes?
The cost is more, than your conscience can take
Left alone, to carry this weight,
It won’t be long before you break,
It won’t be long, before you break…..

This brought tears to my eyes. 🙁 Well done Silver9678.
something i thought everyone here could relate to
“It won’t be long before you break”, it’s exactly what suicide is screaming at me day after day.
Don’t let it break you.
i’m not broken yet…just a little cracked
Me too. Can’t say the same for the glass cups I frequently smash up.
eh, it happens
Damn. And those were my favorite cups too.
I hope you write more of your lovely poetry. Peace.
