I did this a little over a year ago. Now it is time for round two! It’s completely anonymous (both ends). However, you will need a web browser/amazon kindle. (memorandum for dear friend whom recently took her life)

I will buy you this book, I don’t have a discount, there is nothing in it for me other than the interesting perspective I think it might offer you.
Its called “This is How” by Augusten Burroughs. The description is:
If you’re fat and fail every diet, if you’re thin but can’t get thin enough, if you lose your job, if your child dies, if you are diagnosed with cancer, if you always end up with exactly the wrong kind of person, if you always end up alone, if you can’t get over the past, if your parents are insane and ruining your life, if you really and truly wish you were dead, if you feel like it’s your destiny to be a star, if you believe life has a grudge against you, if you don’t want to have sex with your spouse and don’t know why, if you feel so ashamed, if you’re lost in life. If you have ever wondered, How am I supposed to survive this?
This is how.
email me at stoicide at gmail.com I will gift you a copy for amazon kindle (you can also read it in your web browser)
Please, only if you are serious, even if you only read the chapter titled “how to end your life”. It won’t change your mind, just provide a different point of view. I’m not rich, but I think it is worthwhile for you to read.
He has a simple and relatable way with words. It was recommended to me a few years ago when one of my closest friends was going through a divorce.

Interesting offer. I looked up some quotes from the book just to get an idea of what it’s like. Over the years I’ve ventured into the world of self help many times, and I don’t know, it seems no amount of reading and being told that I can control how I feel or react to things is going to work for me. It all makes sense on paper, I don’t disagree with any of the material I’ve seen so far, but it’s the type of thing where it feels like “if I were capable of feeling different in the first place, don’t you think I would?”. Maybe I’ll check the library or get my hands on a copy of it somehow. No need for you to pay for it.
Hey Specter! I feel like I have read you as long as I have been here (I’m a bit of a fan). And yup, It might not be for you! I think it’s a nice refreshing read at the worst. In that respect I never really thought of it as a self help book. However, In reality, it probably is. I always found the author to be succinct, realistic and hilarious. Is it for “you”? Probably not, then again, I’m willing to take the hit in the wallet. I think for many that find themselves here it provides a different perspective. Options, maybe even hope. Especially for those that lack the constitution to commit seppuku (me currently), but wish to end their life.
I’ve read Peacefull pill Handbook. It gave me some ideas. It could be downloaded if you search on the web. I honestly don’t believe in self help books. They do nothing for me.
But still, it’s nice of cephalus for offer. I’m sure it can be usefull for someone.
I love Augusten Burroughs. I’ve read just about everything he is written. I might read this as well. Thank you for the kind offer. I might take you up on it.
