When in the middle of forming an existential reflection, people will tell you it’s a luxury to be able to pause and think about life’s absurdity, to afford loosing community support by challenging your beliefs, to take sides with a cause that’s not in line with their priority, to complicate what could’ve been an easy life.
If that thought happens to drift into utopia, people will remind you that it’s a luxury and ask you to be practical.
If that thought happens to drift into melancholy, people will remind you that it’s a luxury and ask you to not frown over it.
If that thought happens to drift into desperation, people will remind you that it’s a luxury and ask you to get over it.
If that thought happens to drift into numbness, people will remind you that it’s a luxury and ask you to feel life, think life, but do not dwell in unprocessed unnecessary challenging thoughts.
It makes them feel threatened and quite uncomfortable.

yeah usually is so you won’t do anything about it so they can steal your ideas!! just kidding! 🙂
? I don’t quite understand what you’re trying to get at here. Do you work for some political campaign? J/k (unless you do).
Acknowledging some truths is like looking into an abyss or, even more interesting, being on the top of a skyscraper and looking down.
Crashing becomes inevitable.
I think that’s why people will deny some aspects of reality with every fiber of their being. They know that once the first step of that journey is taken, there is no going back. Some things can not be unseen, unheard or forgotten.
I’ve always pondered if people go “crazy” because their minds can’t handle or fathom the truth. Reality is often pretty grim.
People probably say it’s a luxury because contemplating the truth would mean facing the meaninglessness, absurdity and futility of existence.
A lot people talk and give advice but the more I listen to them, the more I realize, they don’t even know what they are talking about. Their experience is not broad enough to grasp certain aspects of reality. And instead of saying: “I don’t know”, they spew whatever bullshit that is supposed to end the discussion

In my experience, the fear is so tangible, I can almost smell it and touch it
