Hey everybody.
I’ve been absent for awhile, so here I am checking in to let you know I’m still breathing.
First, as an appetizer, have a cartoon before I dive into my update:
Now for the update.
The health issues continue to get worse, just as expected. My mobility is embarrassingly bad, and there are days when I can hardly move. Today all I could do was lay in bed for 16 hours straight with my eyes closed. I got up at 8:00 in the evening thinking “Well, what do I do now?”
A couple days ago I almost fell in public. I dropped the cane and when I bent over to pick it up, my foot slid. When I tried regaining balance, my foot slid again. And again. I was grateful no one happened to be around to see it. If I’d fallen, I would probably have needed help getting up.
Still grateful for the leg braces, grateful for the walker that doubles as a wheelchair. They make it so I’m not 100% trapped. People don’t really think about this kind of thing until they’re in it themselves.
Sometimes I’m clawing at the door trying to get out of this life, and other times I feel dead already and am clawing at the other side of the door trying to get back in.
But, for today at least, I am still here.

That’s rough.
The only upside to being handicapped is getting a good parking space (as far as I can tell).
I wish you the best.
LOL.
Morris, you’re right about that….
The parking is good.
What sucks are the times when even the handicapped spots are too far away.
But in general it’s a blessing for which I am grateful.
I have a chronic health issue which makes it so I have extremely limited energy. I’ve got to plan my days out so I don’t have too much in any one day. People don’t understand that unless they’ve been there, just as I can only imagine how hard it must be to be totally disabled. So sorry to hear. Is there anything at all that could improve your health?
@zeldasky: I agree that it seems difficult for able-bodied people to understand.
There’s nothing they can do to fix me, but I have gotten some things to help me, like the braces and the walker. Whenever I shop I need one of those motorized carts. I love those things. Big help.
Well sweetie you do have Courage! Your stronger than me! i know this is going to sound stupid but take it easy! i think you do more in one day then i do in a month! using all that stuff to get around is a great thing but it’s like lifting weights or something, it uses a lot of energy. i’m just glad your still here 🙂
@ rocketman: Thanks for having faith in me. You are very nice.
I dunno about me being courageous, but at least I’m here.
Hey Cordy. Glad to see you’re still with us. Sounds rough with the wherlchair and cane and all of that stuff. *big hugs*
My mom’s in a similar boat also. :/
Sending lots of love your way.
Trey, the mindless gamer
Thank you for the love.
I need to invent a machine that can convert love into tacos, and then have the tacos turn back into love again after I eat them.
So far the tacos always seem to turn into something else….
Wow that is tough, and even worse that your condition is still deteriorating. I know I wouldn’t be able to deal with all that. Best wishes, and stay strong.
Thank you for the good wishes.
I will do my best, 73% of the time.
The remaining 27% of the time I’m here at SP, thinking about the same topic we’re all thinking about.
Cordless, you are one the strongest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of interacting with. As soon as I invent a rocket-powered wheelchair capable of traveling the universe and garentee it’s safety, I will send it to you.
Awesome!
Hello Cordless, I am happy to see you are still around ^_^
Hi there!
It’s good to see you too.
Hi cordless. Glad to see you’re still here it’s been awhile, I’m sorry you’re having a hard time. I watched my mom lose her mobility, but she never gave up and i know you won’t. My mom was one of the strongest woman i know and so are you. Other than the obvious i hope you’re doing good. ???
Hey! It’s good to see you!
It has been a long time.
In fact I was just thinking of you the other day (remembering SP Michigan people) and wondering how you were doing.
It’s been up and down as you well know. Had something come up that I’m not gonna post but pretty bad. Actually thinking about moving to Arizon, but it is nice to hear from you and besides what you got going on now i hope everything else is going good for you.
Arizona?
Really?
That’s where Rocketman lives.
Apparently there are a lot of scorpions and cacti, though he has yet to send me photographic proof.
Hi cordless thanks for the update sorry about your struggles etc. I believe in you
Thank you!
