I’m pretty sure that the only thing that actually works is downing a bottle or two of vodka. If it’s not obvious, I’m a bit drunk, but at least it makes me numb and actually gets me to forget all of the other shit that I don’t want to think about. Fuck it, I might as well look at getting my hands on more morphine when I can, that shit works way fucking better than alcohol. Plus, it’s usually cheaper for me to get numb from that instead of drinking, so it works better. Yay for self mediction.

I hope you’ll eventually find other ways to cope with whatever you’re dealing. I don’t know what’s happening in your life, but I’m sorry for whatever it is. Sounds like you’ve already had a really rough time. Stay safe.
It works until addiction sets in, morphine is a lovely thing, but it really ain’t lovely when you’re addicted.
I’ve already been addicted, and I got off of it, but being hooked on it still worked better than anything else I’ve tried.
I really don’t understand the phrase “self medication” or “self medicating.” All medication is self-medication, unless someone’s forcing the pills down your throat.
There are generally two ways to cope with a problem. The first is what you’re doing. Numbing yourself until you forget about it. And doing that over and over again. The second way is to untangle the knot, that is, solve the problem.
I’d only advise the first approach if you’re 100,000% certain that the second approach is impossible. And even then, I’m not sure.
Is that the case for you?
That is definitely the case. Unless someone can go into my head and take away all of my memories, nothing else will help.
whiskered-fish, i believe the term self medicating is used by individuals that are talking or doing something to kill their pain with out any doctors approval, such as i drink vodka, i don’t think the doctor would prescribe that i go home and drink a 5th. 🙂
I’m such an idiot. The absence of a doctor. That’s it.
Still though, taking medication, prescribed or not, is always a matter of choice.
your not an idiot! i was just guessing! 🙂 you hit it right on the head! 🙂 “The absence of a doctor”
taking!! 🙂
