I am a religious person, but I am starting to have some doubts. I was looking for what religion says about people without empathy. It says you should fast. Like what the actual fuck is fasting going to change about empathy??

I’d tell you what fasting has to do with empathy, but I don’t actually give a shit. LOL I’ve fasted for 4 days with no food, just water. All it does is make you super hungry. Nothing to do with empathy.
I’m thinking the deal is that if you fast, you’ll experience what those who don’t have access to food experience, building your empathy. Fasting won’t fix anything, just creates perspective.

That’s freaking hilarious (and terrifying). Just what religious organization do you belong to in the first place? The church I belong to never for once mentions to fast when someone asks the question of lacking empathy. In fact, the Christian organization I belong to makes it perfectly clear that it’s because people have forgotten God’s ways and love for one another that people have become cruel and destructive in these end times. They put forth sin, selfishness and greed as the root cause of people being narcissistic and remorseless in this day and age. They’ve forgotten to love their neighbor as they would love themselves, that’s why there’s so much suffering in this world.
You fast or you do not. God will love you.
