We see the same dribble in every day life of how certain billionaires get to space on a empire of well fortuned hard work. Of rags to riches celebrities who struck the right chords. People who found online or offline success.
Sucess (snorts), the golden needle in a thread of hay inside a needle stack inside the core of a gas giant inside the bowels of a space whale inside the centre of a black hole inside the perfect alternate reality inside the needle inside the……
And then there are the droves and droves having endless debates and discussions of how to make it like – insert worshipped human deity – did. The tricks they used, the failures, won and lost, that they lived, the inspirations they got, the battles they endured, and even the demons that consumed them.
I (and I’m sure many others too) sit back and look at this whole game of 8 billion people trying to find it…and all I (we) have to say…”LET ME OUT!!!!”
“Let me out, I’m not supposed to be here, I was sent here, I’m sure there was a mix up in the higher dimensions, please! where can I go to contact dimensional phasing services? anybody? Help me!!!!”
And this stupid place keeps dangling its crap (cars/money/…material shit) like a spineless salesperson…”F*CK OFF!!!! and take your stupid shit with you!, get away from me! (running in all directions) LET ME OUT!” ….let us all out!

Eh… billionaires, not a one of them deserves it. There is no way for one human to be SO FANTASTIC that they deserve that much more while people are literally starving. I’ll admit that one or two of them are moderately cool, but that cool evaporates right off when I realize they make more in an HOUR than I have in a DECADE.
I want out, but that’s been a theme, I’ve been tunneling out for 8 years now. Still no idea when I’m going to break the surface on the other side and make my escape. Sometime, surely. I know that if my parents died, I could make a run for it right away [a few months on, seconds in relation to how long I’ve been trying to get out]
It also doesn’t help that my parents being in love with this terrible city being one of the main reasons they won’t help me get out. I get that it worked out okay for THEM, but living here has not been something good for me, financially or emotionally.
Let me out, let us all out, being bled dry for an economy that has no incentive, how is being dead worse again?!
Bled dry for an economy with no incentive…I couldn’t find better words to put it.
Indeed, this world is, to me, literally built out of unfairness. To clarify I say that the billionaires worked hard to be where they are, but they did it in a way the system endorses.
By my observation, what makes the system reward a person is cruelty, indifference, self centredness, psychopathy and true malice. Its high risk high reward, those that are caught are criminals, those who get away write the laws.
It’s no doubt to me that we are born with the express purpose of being farmed for tax, hehnce overpopulation (the crux to most all problems we face) is never peddaled the way a really bad case of the flu might be.
So when I say they worked hard, they did so in the same way that murdering millions of people is hard work. And they are rewarded by keeping the status quo of grinding the human gristle it needs to kill the planet.
This is a deep post, which is very rare. Thank you for posting & sharing this.

I don’t have any any problem with Billionaires just because they have money. They only made money because people found value in their creations and were willing to pay what they were asking. There is certainly an element of luck, but that is really the only way they get rich to that degree. Making something that a lot of people want and are willing to pay for. There are billionaires that I personally dislike, and I do avoid their products out of principle despite generally finding the products both helpful and useful.
I do agree on the materialistic focus of society being overall a big negative. Hopefully, someday we’ll find a better way.
It’s frustrating to look at others who find success so easily when I’m in hell but they didn’t put me here. My failure is my fault.
Interesting topic…if the gripe with billionaires is that they have more wealth/power than us, the question really should be ‘are you happy with what you have in your life?’
I think by nature most humans want to be ‘the greatest’ at everything we do. As we get older we realize how hard it is to get anywhere and we downsize our ego to match reality.
So in my case, sure I’d love to be mega-rich, but I would settle for a having a nice house and a pretty wife and a decent income that allows us to have a family and a comfortable retirement.
This isn’t a crazy goal, it’s achievable by many, assuming you have a decent job. Ofc nowadays that is more challenging with the value of salaries not keeping pace with inflation. But over time you can get promoted and earn more.
As for the very rich some of them got lucky, like buying into Bitcoin early for example. Some of them were born into wealth, others gained it from crime or invading other countries and robbing from them, etc.
So we can’t lump the rich together in the same box and say “they’re all evil.” Some of them earned it through legit means and working their butt off, others lucked out-but they can’t be hated on for winning in a system that creates wealth. Those who robbed others to get rich obviously should pay for their crimes.
Regarding poor people, at least for advanced nations, it’d only take 1% of the GDP to wipe out homelessness for example. I don’t buy into the ‘rugged Capitalism’ BS you hear from rich people-that’s nearly always a lie and they’ve had help to get to where they are from a rich benefactor.
We do need a social safety net to help people get back on their feet and find work. There’s a misconception that people on social assistance mooch off the system. While that might’ve been true with a tiny minority in the past, in modern times, they’re very tough on their clients and have quotas/demands to apply for work and take any job they can get.
However I think we should also have consideration for those with physical and mental disabilities who are unable to work or can only do a limited amount. Western nations generate huge wealth so helping out the ones ‘left behind’ shouldn’t be in dispute.
Lastly getting out of the rat race is also an option-either by living frugally, or ending one’s existence. As for myself I’m doing better than I’ve done in the past, but I’m still far from the goals I’ve set for myself.
I’ve given myself about 10 years to get there, ofc if I see major improvements, then I’ll just keep living and see where life takes me. But if in a decade I’m still not where I want to be, then I’m going to “pull the plug” so to speak.

Agreed but there’s a very subjective undercurrent to all of this. We each have our own definitions of robbery, crime and acceptable ethics. And these definitions are further clouded by jealousy and our skewed idea of fairness. Elon Musk is a douchebag, most of us agree with that, but he seems to have gotten rich fair & square, at least without committing outright crimes. But given the chance, most of us would rob his safe and give it to the poor because douchebags don’t seem to deserve wealth. That’s what I’m talking about, when we start trying to judge others it turns into a messy often hypocritical tangle.
My solution is to try to stay focused on my own faults and failures. Unless Elon Musk is literally stealing from my bank account then I guess he has a right to be a douchebag and I try not to let it get to me. Otherwise we’d go insane with rage at all the bitcoin billionaires, trailer park lotto winners, spoiled brats who inherited fortune, and questionable businesses (alcohol moguls, slumlords, etc). Envy and jealousy are close cousins of greed, so it’s probably best to ignore all those feelings and just concern ourselves with fixing our personal failures… at least that’s what I’m hoping will put my life back on track, or at least allow me to make peace with my poverty.
FF,
Yes there are some rich people who deserve to be hated, like the Queen of England and that whole community of the robber-barons/Colonialists who invaded other countries like India and literally stole trillions of dollars of gold and other wealth, and killed and enslaved millions of people in the process.
Elon Musk however hasn’t killed or robbed anyone to get where he is. I guess here’s where we differ because he is a hero to many for his success and generally being a good guy. He just happened to know how to use the Capitalist system to his advantage and won.
Yes I do get a little pissed off that the community of rich people can call each other up and say “how you would like to make a million this week?” by doing favors for one another. While the rest of us could only dream of getting such a large amount of money so easily.
Don’t forget the pigs at the gov’t trough, getting bribes and kickbacks for gov’t contracts and making other deals. The Clintons have their ‘Foundation’ where rich mideast Arabs for example get cushy defense deals by donating to them. That’s how all the people at the top of govt get rich.
Another example, Ilhan Omar took a million dollars of taxpayer money and gave it to her brother’s company, god knows for what, because there’s no oversight and I’m sure she’d whine about racism/Islamophobia if anyone investigated her…not to mention the people who should be watching them are themselves benefitting and staying quiet, while us taxpayers are stuck out in the cold and can’t do anything to stop them.
Then ofc there’s corporate welfare, the super-rich creating legal loopholes to avoid paying their fair share. As my sociology prof once said, if we collected all the debt they owe us, we could wipe out the national debt and ordinary people would be a lot wealthier.
So ya there are definitely people worthy of our hatred. But there isn’t much that can be done about it, unless people organize. But then you have people in the movements fighting for power and control and assuming they win, then they get all the money and call the shots-the power corrupts them also.
There isn’t a lot that can be done about any of these things going on but to try to get ‘lucky’ ourselves or build a career that will allow us to at least live comfortably. Money is the source of most of our misery.
I’m exactly in the same boat and I’ve tried to get out of the rat-race in other ways, I came very close a few times, but it wasn’t enough. Though I believe I will be able to succeed as I have a lot of experience in the trading field-but with my crazy life I haven’t had the time to trade regularly, but I’m trying to reorganize it to make it happen.
However if that doesn’t work out, then I’ll grow in the company I’m in. It turns out there are well-paying positions that I can work my way towards, so that’s my backup plan.
Also people should use common sense. If you don’t have any wealth to pass on to your kids, then why have them? They’re going to suffer and struggle as you have, miss out on big opportunities in their life because they’re poor. I’m talking in particular about my parents and people like them.
They had kids for selfish reasons, though frankly my mother wouldn’t be alive today if she didn’t have me to help her out, so I don’t mind being there for her, but I’m still not happy with the crappy life that was dropped into my lap…..but I’m doing what I can to make it better.
