I think that’d be great. And I’ve been wanting to do something too, just don’t know what. So I was thinking of doing volunteer work during the spring. I don’t have a clue on how to even make a “movement” big enough so it’d actually change things though, ya know?
yah i know. i hate it tho. i want to rebel or something.
I want to be a rebel too
Hell Yeah Morgie!
I would like to help!
“Making a difference” doesn’t always have to be “Big”. one thing I do to “make a difference” is, I take in old and damaged dogs – tens of thousands of animals are in shelters and euthanized yearly – I may not make a WORLD of difference – but I make a WORLD of difference for this ONE.
Pick anything – volunteer – adopt an animal, help a neighbor – any act of kindness helps the world one at a time – your one small seemingly insignificant act could change someone’s life – good Luck 🙂
I’ll be very honest here:
I think the reason why people often only want to “save ONE person’s life, make a difference to ONE person’s life only” is because of: they’re afraid to do BIGGER things, and also, to know the BIGGER Truths.
What Truth? U asked…well, the Bigger Truth that we’re all being controlled by the sick, evil 1%-2% Top Elites, and even possibility of the “Secret Societies” behind it: the NWO, Illuminati, etc.
Believe it or not, but it’s true that “Ignorance is Bliss”, for majority of people, as long as they’re not get troubled further, even if only by KNOWING more of these truths.
I would honestly advocate the idea of mass, worldwide Revolutions (like what’s been happening, thankfully, with all the Occupy movements, Middle-East ongoing protests and toppling-down of their corrupt rulers, etc). And also to perhaps do campaign or protest ACTIVELY to the ‘evil’ institutions that mostly are causing many problems we see nowadays in this world, eg: banks, churches (yes, churches, especially the Vaticans! Good God,..u don’t even want to know/hear the TRUTH probably!..it’ll twist ur mind!..but the Truth IS the Truth!), and government/political parties that are corruupt, dictator, etc.
I would honestly say that THAT is what our MAIN, CORE problems is!! …..helping “one’s persons’ life”, who are also ‘enslaved’ by those 1%-2% “Powers-That-Be” above, and who will die anyway,….probably won’t help much.
It’s harsh, but true reality, IMHO.
Hope it would open ur mind, even just a bit. It’s better than nothing/live in ignorance.
Google Resource Based Economy (RBE), Zeitgeist, Venus Project, and Paradism…to open ur mind to the “BIGGER Reality” of things.
And join them. Fight with them. Become the PEOPLE, the Humans.
If u really want to “make a Difference”, then be serious and try to make a BIG, meaningful one.
not half-assed ones.
Just saying.
Niki … EVERYONE and EVERYTHING will die – that is a fact – the “harshness” in your “reality” is that you advocate turning you back on someone or something that “will die anyway” How does that attitude set you apart from the “Evil Powers-That-Be”? That is EXACTLY what THEY already do!
I actually agree with much of what you wrote … until you got to the point of an utter lack of compassion and brotherhood. (Especially agree about the church) The world is harsh – I agree – that doesn’t mean we all have to make it harsher.
@qrsdawg: u’re right..u’ve got a point there: “don’t be like the Powers-that-Be, the ‘evil’ ones”. Thanks for reminding me this simple yet elusive truth..
It’s just that honestly I’m kinda frustrated with how majority of people choose to live in Ignorance and also choose don’t want to
know the Bigger Truths of things,..and just “follow the lead” like a sheep,..even if it’s an EVIL leader!
People seriously need to Wake Up,
and thankfully,..I can see they’re starting too,
especially in this year 2011: it’s gonna be a historic year, as it marked many worldwide protests, movements, and revolutions.
More to come in THE year 2012, I hope, and somewhat can ‘feel’ it already…
Fear can be powerfully DEmotivational to open ones eyes to the truth. As frustrating as it can be to try to enlighten someone – it doesn’t necessarily make a person “bad” because the fear the enlightenment. but in our zeal to awake the masses, we cannot lose sight of that which makes our cause JUST – Our Humanity and Compassion for those who need help 🙂
Agree Niki in part, but the issue is more basic then that ~ it’s basic human greed and insecurity to be/have more then others so they can feel like they are the best and quell their insecurity.
Yes there is merit to some of the points raised by conspiracists and i do like protest movements if only to alleviate awareness of issues on what can be done.
But remember, your life becaomes what you focus on also, so try focus your time on contributing to people also – nurses, doctors, counsellors do it everyday.
I affect & control my life, not the 1%, so too can you.
Morgie, so what exactly is you want to protest about?
i have no idea. something that needs to change
ps” lol i mean’t elevate; not alleviate :))
morgie, look up the posts yday by william tell okay? likely of interest to you … 🙂
sorry i didn’t understand that comment
I think it’s nice that you want to make a difference. Once you reach that conclusion, the options are so overwhelming that you often end up doing nothing.
My conclusion is basically that education is the answer to all human societal problems. Greater education usually correlates with a decrease in birthrate and an increase in quality of life. Development of new technologies can potentially heal the planet’s environmental problems.
There are volunteer projects in most countries where you can help educate underdeveloped countries who don’t have access to a uni education. This is very important – the establishment of a middle class is very important in developing any nation. Personallly I have decided to go back to school and train as a social worker so I can have more impact than my current proffession.
I kind of agree with a lot of what niki says, but I also feel that such dramatic actions are a little juvenile and ultimately not feasible. People need time to adapt to change, otherwise they rebel and revert right back where they started. Change happens slowly, and what actually need to happen are structural changes, rather than superficial ones. So of course this isn’t going to happen overnight.
morgie, go back a few pages and look up the post “Twisted World” ..
you will likely find it interesting …..
one day ~ u are smart and as a result perceptive …
@adastra – thanks, right back at you! I might have a look at that twisted world post too…
