I think a video would much harder for a family to view, this is the last memories they will have the rest of their lives.
A note on the other hand as long as it is clear and consise, would be easier for family. They may still be able to remember a better time with you still here. A video will leave a mark thats just too much for them to endure.
a video isnt really a good idea? Although i never thought of it. But really, if you leave a video thats all they will have left of you. They will have that one tape of your final confession. It will be painful to watch and i doubt they would get through the whole tape. A Note on the other hand can be quick and easy for them to read why you done it. Also i guess the police when they find you will have it for evidence and probably wont give it back to your family for their sake :L.
@bah – what you say it true, but you have to consider…. what is your intent with making the note/video? Is it so you can clearly express your reason for ending it, or is it more for the sake of loved ones, to alleviate any guilt they might feel about possibly contributing to your death?
If it’s the former, make a video, just bear in mind that it will probably be much harder for you loved ones to view. If the latter, leave a note.

Why not tell them face to face.

I think a video is much better than a simple little note. It conveys the depth of your emotions a whole lot better than a little letter.
