High school is stupid! Grades are stupid! Being a teenager is stupid! I hate everything about it! I wish we could just skip this chunk of our lives. It’s a great waste of time.
All you do is stress about high school just to stress about college and for what?! To show that you payed more money for a stupid piece of paper thy says the word “diploma”!
I hate being a teenager! I wouldn’t want to live this part of my life even if people paid me!
All I do is stress about school. Whether or not I’ll make grades. Or get accepted to UCLA or whatnot.
I’ve never gotten less than a B until this year. But what will that get me? Nothing. Someone who’s classified as a ‘Genius’ gets nothing.
If I’m a genius I don’t want to feel stupid…

Okay, you might be right. That piece of paper is very expensive, especially if you don’t even know if you want it.
In Europe, it is customary to take a “gap year.” This is a year after high school where you focus on your own interests. This may be the year when you first learn how to live off of where you make and at the same time travel to places you have only dreamed of. This is a good time to learn about what you may really want and if you have what it takes to get you there. It is also a good time to rule out what you don’t want to do. (Maybe I don’t want to spend my life being an anylist, whatever for x company).
At any rate, in this economy it is really important to think about the cost of a higher degree. The harsh reality is that it does not always pay off. You may be paying the bank for the degree for 10 years or more.
Maybe a European “Gap” year is the perfect opportunity to seek an apprenticeship. Professionals who trully love their craft are impressed and excited to pass on their knowledge. This can be worth far more than any degree.
To add to this, for example, if you are set on something that may require a higher degree, for example an MD or PhD etc, do not be intimidated to contact someone you admire in this profession. You will be at a great advantage here. I don’t know of too many high school students or people in other walks of life who contact people in professions they seek to work with them and follow through. I have to say that as a professional I am pretty surprised that students or others make an initial attempt to contact me through friends or relitives do not follow though with contacting me! I would be happy to hear from people even to just give some advice if that is all they seek!
i couldnt take it so i dropped out, taking online classes
Sorry I took so long… School.
Well I want to be a cardio vascular surgeon so that’s going to suck. But I hate the stress about everything.
No, I don’t live in LA. I live in Bakersfield. So if I don’t get accepted I’m going to a junior college then transferring.
