Everyone feels sorry for the people that are physically hurt. People with broken bones get their casts signed. People with cancer get support from all corners of the earth. But what do people think of mental illnesses? They think that it’s a choice. That we can just snap out of it. And if we can’t, we should either go to a crazy house or die. We get no support except from our close ones and fellow sufferers. When someone nearly dies in a car crash, they awake to notes of love and compassion sitting next to their hospital bed. You know what I woke up to when I was sent to the hospital after an attempt? A police officer. They handcuffed me to the gurney until they could find one that had restraints on it. No cards, no warm smile, just pity and isolation. People that go through physical therapy have dozens of people cheering them on. When I go through mental therapy, the only one cheating me on is my dog. It’s complete bullshit. And everyone that knows what I go through still complains. All these petty problems these damn kids have. Oh my xbox broke. Oh I got a c on that test. ***** I nearly died five times and I’m close to trying it again. So shut the fuck up about how hard your life is because your a suburban sheltered child. Ive been to places most adults haven’t been to, I’ve seen shit that’d make you piss your pants, so until you’ve slept with a knife at your side and hoped to roll over it in your sleep dont come complaining to me about how hard your life is. Damn.

I know how you feel. I really do. People act the same around me, some believe that its not real or that serious and others think that I’m all cured after being locked up in the hospital after my third suicide attempt. It really is bullshit. People start to become more aware of what’s really going on in the world and in their loved ones lives.
Think about it.
By feeling this way “All these petty problems these damn kids have. Oh my xbox broke. Oh I got a c on that test”
you are doing the same thing that the people who have disdain for mental illness do.
By compasrison a lot of people’s issue can be looked at as trivial. but versus their life experience those things can be tough to them. They are just those fortunate enough to have an existence that is not as taxing as others.
It is not fair anf nor is it equal.
And it will probably never be.
All one can do is live, deal with it and hope one has/gets some support or choose death.
