She sat alone, cried alone, felt alone.
No one listened to her.
Her parents tormented her.
Even the Voice in her head, her own thoughts, insult her.
And beside her?
Another girl, alone.
And a boy, also feeling alone.
And another and another and anotherandanotherandanotherand
Separated by the dense angry fog that depression wraps you in, never letting you reach out and never letting others in;
THE BLACK VELVET CURTAIN
It’s hard for young people to realize that they have anything in common with anyone else, even other young people.
I know that you are surprised to find each other here.
To recognize that you are not alone.
To be part of a community.
To find empathy.
Someone to listen and someone to care.
And what if you met someone special in real life?
Can a new love help you?, save you?, keep your suicidal secrets?
Such pressure for ones so young!
What if you could have a love in your life, but someone else that you could trust to confide in and to guide you through your struggles?
Someone capable of taking on the responsibility of helping you with the scary world of suicidal depression.
maybe not a parentteachersisterbrotherpastor but someone nonjudgmental to walk your path along side you;
THE MENTOR
While you are still young,
Learn to care for yourselves.
Stop beating yourself up.
Be good to yourselves.
Love yourself.
Stop the negative self talk.
Learn to quiet the Voice inside your head that hurts you.
And then;
Be good to each other.
Care for each other.
Respect each other.
Love one another.
Collectively, you are the light of the world, the remarkable expression of life and being, in this universe, caretakers of the future, and couriers of the past. You are much more valuable together than apart.
And finally, when you grow,
Look for those in need.
Keep them from harm.
Shelter them from the Evil men do.
Become the power you wish you had in your life now;
THE GUARDIAN
