If it is something i cannot fix or change – make a plan for how it will affect you, implement the plan and forget about it – review and update plan as needed.
Example: I worry about who will be president – fist, there isn’t much I can do about it other than vote which means there’s no reason to fret about it – I know who I will vote for but can’t do anything about it until november – so there’s no reason to take up brainpower worrying – when campaign issues come up in discussions with people, I will respectfully explain my position and urge them to vote for “my guy” … if the other guy wins … there ain’t a damn thing I can do about it … case closed
Example: I worry about the economy – Nothing I can do will change it, I can try to protect myself from its effects by saving money and watching my spending but after that … nothing else I can do about it other than make sure I keep my job or try to get a better paying job.
If it is something I CAN fix or change … then don’t worry about it … DO IT!
Example: I wonder if Mary Likes me? Solution: ASK! … the worst she can say is “No” and if she doesn’t like me, Oh wall, Her loss cuz I’m
Well … no I was using the name in a generic context … but to be clear … people of any age race and sex are more than welcome to like other people … “How” they like them is, a whole different issue … and for the record I generally prefer women that I like “that way” to be around my own age and certainly NEVER under 20
And remember, you rarely have a problem right now.
Your problems usually come from past difficulties or future worries.
But in ths moment, the present moment, the only place you will ever live, you have no problems.
As Wise Dawg teaches, learn to distance yourself from useless worrying.
This is the path to peace.
