If my mother could see herself when she is wasted,
If my father could see himself when he used to hurt me,
If my grandmother would realize that i don’t see the world like her,
If my brother could see how much i need him,
If my friends could put themselves in my shoes,
Maybe then they would understand.

Thanks for sharing your poem. I really like it. Lines 4 and 5 resonate with my own experiences, feelings. It’s deeply disappointing when the people closest to us either don’t see or don’t care about how much we need them. I guess that’s where the expression “needy” comes from. People just don’t want to be bothered with others stuck in dark places. We “bring [them] down.” But the therapists and clinics tell us to reach out to our friends and relatives for support. And there’s the rub. They can’t or don’t want to support us.
Well, at least there are sweet cherries in the summer! Hey, for what it’s worth, I hope you’re feeling a bit better…
AAMMMEEENNN TO THAT.
i feel the same way completly
