Might I ask a few more questions?
Would your family intervening deter you from continuing to cut yourself?
Would achieving something, tangible or intangible, make you cut less, or stop?
Have you tried alternative methods to cope? (Not that I know of many. Meditation, maybe?)
I listen to metal when I cut.
I put it on once and my mum came in asking if I was hacking my head off with a Machete.
I love looking at my cuts but hate looking a the scars. I allways take pictures of the cuts.
If you need someone to talk to, I’m here
You listen to metal, s2419? I maybe biased (considering what I’ve read from some of your posts) but someone that always wants to go shopping and be skinny doesn’t seem like the type of person that would like metal. If you do, good.
I don’t think many people here like metal or similar stuff.
Anyway, CopeingByBlood, what kind of metal do you like? I like death, black and thrash, probably death more. I have more than 20 scars, I like them. I’m aware it’s not right but I like cutting too, nothing is right anyway; it takes my humanity away, which is good since I hate being one. I wish I had started way before, I would’ve felt much better..or worse.
Passerby: Yeah I do listen to metal. I love suicide silence, black veil brides, Whitechapel, bullet for my valentine, suffokate, young guns, you me at six, mayday parade.
I do realise that not all of those are metal. But I like others aswell. I’ve been an ’emo’ for a few years but it’s really hard to be one at my school. They morph you into a girlie, prissy, mainstream, tit.
But I change every few days. I dress the way I feel, I listen to Cretain music on certain days when I’m feeling certain ways. So tbh I wouldn’t put myself in one category of people.
That comment was Ment for condensedFlesh, not passerby. Sorry got confused.
I wouldn’t call any of those metal. You should try Obituary, it’ll make you feel good. You just said you’re ’emo’ but that you wouldn’t put yourself in one category of people..
I put it in speech marks, meening, I’m not what people would call emo. But I was for a while.
Now I’m just a mixture of emotions and those emotions show in what I wear and listen to.
That’s good for you. Emos are boring and an MTV fad, weren’t they now extinct anyway
I don’t think that what I wear shows people what my emotions are, people don’t know what I listen to, what’s to show anyway, I don’t feel anything. I’m dead.
Why are all you comments ‘awaiting confermation’ ? It looks like I’m habit a convosation with myself aha.
Anyway,..
I don’t do it to show others how I’m feeling.
If I’m in a shut mood then I wear black, heavy makeup, and dye my hair dark.
If I’m in a good mood then I wear lighter colours, alot less makeup and abut lighter hair.
And if I’m in a particularly good mood I might even wear a dress ! But that dosen’t happen often ! (oh and I dye my hair a lot, well a lot more than I should !)
Anyway, you must feel something ??
I don’t know why, really.
Obviously, I do feel something, when I cut. I feel something when I listen to music, but that’s about it. That’s not very human, is it
Get like that sometimes. It is human. It’s just not good.
Have you been to a doc or anything ?
No.
Maybe you should ?
I don’t want to talk to them, I don’t want drugs or be interned.
I think you’ve said yourself they do nothing for you so why you telling me to go see one
I’m not telling you to. I’m just suggesting it.
And I said that some haven’t worked for me. Theres still a chance that one could. And it could be different for you
Is it different for anyone?
Yeah it is !
Some people don’t want to talk.
Some people need to talk.
Some people prefere group therapy.
Some people prefere one on one.
Some need to be put into a mental institute.
Some need drugs.
You’ll never know what you need to get better if you don’t try.
They’ve intervened twice before. It did not at all help. I’ve tried to stop and find other ways to cope, it didn’t work, eventually I went back to cutting.
S2419: Those are some good bands even though they may not be exactly metal
CondensedFlesh: Death Metal and a lot of the bands S2419 named. Music really is one thing that helps. Cutting, has saved my life so many times. Even though, it has been my push to attempt to end it, cutting helps. And I would recommend it to any other hurting kid, that actually does hurt emotionally alot. No matter how bad that sounds.
CopeingByBlood it’s like quiting smoking some go back to it so they need to try again ! and try again! till you do. sorry don’t hate me but what a horrible habit that is.
What death metal bands do you like CopeingByBlood?
I cut some hours ago. I felt terrible but as soon as I did, I just looked at the wounds and felt better. I’m gonna do it again. Unlike many, if not all that do it, I like how the scars on my arms look.
Slayer, Between the buried and me, Mastodon, arch enemy
I think only Arch Enemy would be considered death metal..but yeah (old) Slayer is good too.
