Sits a girl, all alone,
Watching the world go on, on the other side.
The ravine is dark, wide, gaping;
One cannot see the bottom — one wonders if there even is a bottom.
From across the great ravine, the girl sits,
All alone,
And with every sunrise,
And with every sunset,
She contemplates jumping into the ravine,
Letting the darkness swallow her into
Sweet oblivion.
For sitting all alone at the edge of the ravine,
Disconnected from the world across on the other side,
Really is no different from sleeping forever
In the unfathomable darkness of the ravine.
