I don’t want to go out just a number in history. I don’t want to be nameless in the history books. I go on this site, and I see people with a lot of potential to go down in history- if they could make it through the hard times. If they could find something worth fighting for. Because really, when it’s all said and done, you will be a number. Part of the “estimated (number) that died in the year 2013…). But while we live we can be a hero. Heroes come from the most unlikely of places. Heroes are only heroes because they took what they learned from their hard past and used it to create a future. And if we become heroic enough we become legends. That’s the problem today. Everything is focused on the now. So we don’t plan for down the road. We don’t consider what monster awaits us, or what good fortune will bring us. If we keep focusing on how our lives today suck, we’ll never fix it. And that’s what heroes have to do. Fix their problems, because they know that they’re worth more than to go out a number. This site is filled with heroes. The world awaits us, heroes. All we have to do is go through the work to take it.

If I’m only a number than atleast I count. x)
But you are right
that reminds me of a movie i saw in the beggining of this year! it made me think and consider weighing every pros and cons:
“Remember you have Warrior’s blood in your veins.
The code that made your father who he was is the same code that will make you a man he would admire.
Respect, put your pain in a box, lock it down, like those people in the paintings your father liked.
We are people made out of boxes, chambers of loss and triumph,of hurt and hope and love. no one is stronger than a man who can harness his emotions, his past.
Use it as fuel, as ammunition, as an aim to write the most important letter of your life.” – Act of Valor
some i dont understand like the letter, but made me think if im not fighting enough…
You confused me
I don’t want to go out just a number
When it’s all said and done, you will be a number –
But we can become a hero’s
And if we do become heroic enough we become legends – no longer a number?
Suggesting that no longer a number life becomes meaningful?
The Hero you describe is heroic only if acknowledged and remembered by history – less than 0.00000009% of the people that have ever lived?
What you describe as the problem of being focused on the now, on how our lives suck today is really a focus on the past and future that does meet our expectations, so the present moment isn’t actually experienced.
Only by addressing the present as it is, without illusion does the hero live and respond to life’s involvement.
Without being present the hero remains suck, reacting to illusion.
The hero’s journey is difficult requiring that they die many times.
If they return they find themselves where they begun but see it for the first time.
Hero’s don’t require history or legacy; True heroes live the life they live
If you can survive and overcome mental illness, then you are a hero in my books.
