After today I know there would be more people who would be relieved rather than sad that I’m gone. There’s one person who I wish I could talk to first, but it’s clear he thinks I’m too much of a nut job. This weekend I’m going to do a trial rim with the car running and the garage closed. The one person who could stop me is indifferent.

As far as I know, most cars these days have had their emissions controlled in such a way that makes them not as bad for the environment, and incidentally not as lethal to humans. Unless your car is much older, this method has quite a few ways to go wrong.
If you live in the US, UK, or Australia, it’s unlikely you own a car that produces an acceptable level of CO2 because emissions are more tightly controlled. If you want to email me, I will link you a website that has statistics for various suicide methods so you can judge for yourself what your best shot is.
I’m sorry you’re suffering, Margaret, and I hope things get better, but this may not be the way you want to go.
Don’t do it if you have to convice yourself or have second thoughts. You will likely end up miscalculating and injuring yourself or possibly others. Please hang around for the good to come. Even if it’s just one moment I promise you it will outweigh even the hardest times of your life. I speak from experience. It’s not eternity or death that you should fear, but more so what could have been.
